Chapter 288: Chapter 297 More Perverted Ones Are ComingThe group
What was supposed to be a normal chain lightning turned into an unexpected explosion of dark series skills—there was Dark Fire, Dark Meteor, Dark Arrow...
These dark series skills almost instantaneously hit the group of dummies like a basin being dumped, and then a bunch of damage numbers exploded on the screen!
The damage figures were all quite impressive, generally ranging between three to five thousand.
As a result, when looking at the damage plugin’s statistics for burst damage per second, it reached a staggering eighty thousand!
This was an absolutely inconceivable number.
Keep in mind that a normal DPS class could do around eight or nine thousand burst DPS at this point and it would already be considered pretty good, yet this build’s burst damage could hit eighty thousand.
Of course, the video creator also explained that they couldn’t constantly maintain eighty thousand throughout an entire fight. If they fought for around five minutes, the burst DPS would drop to about eighteen thousand.
And that was under favorable conditions. If luck wasn’t on their side, it might drop to fifteen thousand.
Even if it was a single target, it would only be slightly higher than a normal build at eleven or twelve thousand.
But no matter how you looked at it, this level of output was already freakishly powerful!
The video creator was quite generous too, detailing the thought process behind the build directly in the video.
As the name implies, it revolved around the talent "Dark Chain."
This was originally a very common talent for the Dark series. Its effect was that whenever a player cast any dark spell, there was a chance to randomly trigger another dark spell.
It wasn’t considered particularly game-breaking. Indeed, some players would pick it in the standard version, but not many.
Most of the Dark series spells were single-target damage skills, with a significant variance in damage output. Some core abilities could crit for over ten thousand in a single hit, but most of the others looked like a circus trick, only dealing four or five hundred.
Worse yet, the additional dark series spells automatically triggered by the "Dark Chain" talent would consume one second of the player’s global cooldown, effectively locking them out of casting for a second.
This could disrupt the player’s skill chain and negatively affect their DPS rotation. So although it theoretically increased output, not many players used it.
But the video creator discovered an issue with this talent: it only triggered damaging skills that the player had already learned!
