Chapter 2558 - 2551: Standing Up for Her Man
"Do you think I want to? Qiu Xinyi took leave again!" Yan Huan said, fanning herself with a book she picked up from the table. "Isn’t there a big military drill this month? We have to write a few articles for the drill. She’s not here, and the deadline is approaching. If I don’t write them, who will?"
"I heard that Chief Qiu is sick, and since she’s his daughter, she needs to accompany him to see the doctor," Tan Xiaomei said casually.
"Chief Qiu is sick? How do you know that?" Yan Huan asked.
"You didn’t know?"
"How would I know matters of the military department?" Besides, even if a chief is sick, there’s no need to tell me. How would I know?
"Are you getting married and completely absorbed in the joy of happiness?" Tan Xiaomei teased her with a smile.
"Nonsense!" Yan Huan glared at her with a laugh, "Quickly tell me, what illness does Chief Qiu have?"
"I’m not sure about the specifics. But it’s said he needs surgery. The regiment leader recommended him a doctor nicknamed ’Ji Yidao.’ " As Tan Xiaomei finished speaking, she suddenly thought of something, "Is Ji Yidao Dr. Ji? I mean, your Ji Chuan?"
"Your Ji..." Before Yan Huan could articulate her retort, she suddenly stood up, "Goodness, Qiu Xinyi! The intention behind the action isn’t what it seems!"
After finishing, Yan Huan grabbed her bag and ran out.
"Yan Jie, where are you going?" Tan Xiaomei hurriedly chased after her to ask.
Yan Huan had already vanished outside the door.
"Yan Jie runs faster than a rabbit!" Tan Xiaomei muttered to herself, "I didn’t expect her to be so protective of her man."
It takes around ten minutes to bike from the military base to the hospital, which isn’t very far. Yan Huan, because of her special work, has convenient access to and from the regimental headquarters.
She borrowed a bicycle and quickly rode towards the hospital.
......
Chief Qiu had completed his check-up, and Qiu Xinyi was taking the results to Ji Chuan.
Ji Chuan had just finished a surgery and, seeing Chief Qiu arrive, promptly invited him into the office.
"My check-up results are out, can you take a look for me? Do I really need surgery?" Chief Qiu handed over the results.
Ji Chuan examined them carefully, then put down the papers and said, "This nodule is growing rapidly. From the ultrasound report, the blood flow signals around the nodule are significant, and it seems to be enlarging. If it’s benign, that’s fine, but now it seems the edges aren’t very clear..."
Ji Chuan was about to say more when he noticed the intense anxiety in Qiu Xinyi’s eyes. So, he swallowed back the words he was about to say.
He suggested tactfully, "I recommend surgery as soon as possible!"
"Is it serious? What I mean is..." Qiu Xinyi was very worried. Her mother had passed away early, and these years it had just been her and her father.
She was very concerned about what would happen if something went wrong with her father, leaving her alone.
"No need to be overly worried right now. It’s not as bad as you think. However, if delayed further, it could become more problematic. Let’s proceed with the surgery!" Ji Chuan provided his diagnosis.
"Dad! Did you hear that?"
Chief Qiu also hadn’t expected his condition to progress so fast. Since the doctor advised surgery, he had no reason to refuse, "Alright! Then I entrust this to you! You decide the surgery time?"
"Okay. If that’s the case..." Ji Chuan looked through the surgery schedule. His operations were lined up until three days later. "Then, three days from now! I happen to have time."
"Alright! I’ll leave it to you," Chief Qiu said.
"I will do my utmost," Ji Chuan assured.
Just as he finished speaking, there was a loud, urgent knocking on the office door.
