Chapter 218: The Ultimate Choice of the Multidimensional Universe
Chapter 218: The Ultimate Choice of the Multidimensional Universe
Hearing the warning from the Chaos Core, Isaac and Mira rushed towards the center of the rift without hesitation. However, just as they approached the Void Core, a strange and powerful force suddenly surged from the depths of the rift.
"What is this?" Mira exclaimed.
Instead of tentacles, blurry black shadows emerged from the cracks. These shadows seemed to be some kind of extradimensional creature, without a fixed form, but their power was suffocating. Each shadow was like a clone of the void core, radiating the same aura of destruction.
“It created the Guardians…” The Fate Watcher’s expression grew even more grim. “These shadows are its extensions, specifically designed to prevent us from getting close to the core.”
The shadowy figures swiftly pounced on Isaac and Mira, their movements as fast as lightning, surrounding them almost in the blink of an eye. Isaac swung his Blade of Rules, golden light cleaving one of the shadows in two, but the shadow did not dissipate; instead, it quickly reformed and pounced again.
“These things are impossible to kill!” Mira shouted as she slashed.
"They are part of the core; they can only be temporarily dispersed, not completely destroyed!" The voice of the Chaos Core echoed from afar. "You must quickly approach the core and cut off its energy source!"
Just as the battle reached a stalemate, the cracks in the star map suddenly underwent a new change. The light surging from the cracks became even more violent, and each crack seemed to be giving birth to some new power.
“This is not right!” the Fate Watcher exclaimed alertly. “The energy in the rifts is changing; they seem to be pushing the Void Core to the next stage!”
"The next phase?" Isaac repeated in a low voice, a sense of unease rising within him.
"We don't have time!" Mira shouted. "We have to act now!"
Isaac gritted his teeth and suddenly swung the Blade of Rules, temporarily forcing back the shadows surrounding him. He and Mira exchanged a glance and charged towards the core simultaneously. However, they had barely taken a step when a blazing starlight blocked their path.
"Arbitrator!" Isaac roared, "What exactly do you want?"
The Arbiter coldly stared at them, his scepter emitting a blinding light: "Your actions are a waste of time. The power of the Void Core has surpassed your comprehension; its awakening is inevitable."
"So you want it to fully awaken?" Mira asked angrily.
“That’s right,” the Arbiter sneered. “Only when it is fully awakened can this universe thoroughly cleanse itself of those corrupted rules and order.”
“You’re insane!” Isaac gritted his teeth. “It will destroy everything, including you!”
The Arbiter did not respond, but instead waved his scepter, releasing a powerful energy wave that knocked Isaac and Mira back.
As the situation spiraled out of control, the Watcher of Fate suddenly appeared beside Isaac and Mira. His expression was stern, and his tone carried a hint of urgency: "We must join forces; only the three of us can stop it now."
"Join forces?" Isaac frowned. "But you said before that you are the judge of fate, so why would you cooperate with us?"
“Because the judgment of fate has become meaningless.” The observer’s tone was tinged with helplessness. “The awakening of the void core is an unprecedented crisis. If we cannot stop it, all judgments and all rules will vanish into nothingness.”
Isaac and Mira exchanged a glance and nodded: "Okay, what do we do?"
The observer pointed to the core: "I will temporarily seal the rift with a fragment of the star map. You must take this opportunity to sever the connection between the core and the rift. Once you can do this, its power will no longer be limitless."
With the help of the observers, Isaac and Mira charged toward the Void Core once more. However, just as they were about to reach the core, the shadowy figures in the rift suddenly swelled, as if aware of their intentions, and frantically pounced on the two.
At the same time, the light from the Void Core reached an unprecedented intensity, and the entire rift began to tremble violently. The deep humming sound rang out again, as if announcing its complete awakening.
"Isaac!" Mira shouted, "We can't back down!"
Isaac gritted his teeth, and the Blade of Rules burst forth with dazzling light: "No matter the cost, we must stop it!"
The rift has expanded across the entire star map, with surrounding spatial fragments radiating intense energy fluctuations as they tear apart. The Void Core floats in the center of the rift, its dark halo gradually expanding, enveloping the depths of the rift. The number of Shadow Guardians continues to increase, forming an impenetrable defensive line.
“Its power is constantly increasing.” The Fate Watcher stared at the core, his expression growing increasingly grave. “I can seal the edges of the rift, but I cannot completely destroy it. It will require your strength.”
“Tell us what to do!” Isaac gripped the Blade of Rules, his gaze resolute.
The observer points to the halo around the core: "That halo is the hub connecting the core to the rift. Cutting off the energy flow through the halo will weaken the core's defenses. Only then can we stop its awakening."
“Alright!” Mira nodded, the light blade in her hand emitting a dazzling silver light. “We will break through the Guardians’ defenses and attack the aura directly.”
However, just as they were about to act, the Star Arbiter once again blocked their path. His scepter gleamed blindingly, and his voice was icy: "Foolish struggle. Your power is utterly insufficient to contend with the Void Core, let alone even approach it."
Isaac glared at the adjudicator: "We don't need your opinion. If you're not going to help, then get out of the way!"
The Arbiter sneered: "Blocking your way? I'm helping you wake up. The awakening of the Void Core is inevitable for the universe. Since we can't change it, we might as well use its power to reshape the rules of the universe."
Mira said angrily, "You're risking your life! You don't understand the meaning of freedom at all!"
"Freedom?" The Arbiter's tone was full of mockery. "Freedom is just another name for chaos. True order can only be achieved through power!"
The Arbiter suddenly swung his scepter, unleashing a blazing beam of light like lightning towards Isaac and Mira. The two quickly separated, dodging the attack while simultaneously counterattacking.
"You have no choice, Arbiter!" Isaac roared, swinging the Blade of Rules at the Arbiter's scepter.
The golden radiance of the Blade of Rules collided with the starlight of the scepter in mid-air, unleashing a deafening sonic boom. The Arbiter did not back down, the energy released by the scepter suppressing Isaac's attack.
Seeing this, Mira swiftly approached the Arbiter from the other side, her light blade arcing towards his waist. However, the Arbiter seemed to have anticipated this, his figure vanishing instantly and reappearing several meters away.
"You are too weak." The Arbiter's voice came from the void. "Instead of wasting your energy, accept reality."
