Chapter 114 Li Weimin lives off a woman
Li Xianglian held the heavy bunch of keys, tears streaming down her face.
In the first half of her life, she endured endless scorn and beatings.
I dream of having my own place, where no one will beat me or scold me, and where I can live a peaceful life.
Now, this incredible blessing has fallen right on her head.
"Why are you crying?"
Seeing her burst into tears, Qin Rushan panicked and frantically tried to wipe them away with his rough fingertips, but the more he wiped, the more tears flowed. "Don't like it? If you don't like it, we'll buy it somewhere else! If the county town isn't enough, we'll go to the city!"
"No...no..."
Li Xianglian sniffled, hugged his waist tightly, and pressed her face against his chest. "I'm so happy... Brother Shan, you're so good to me. I'm afraid... afraid this is a dream, and when I wake up I'll still be in the Zhao family's pigsty..."
"Silly girl."
Qin Rushan felt a pang of pain in his heart and hugged her even tighter. "This isn't a dream. Even if it were a dream, I could bring you out of it."
He lowered his head and kissed her small, tear-stained lips hard. He tasted the salty, wet taste of her tears, which only fueled his protective instincts.
"Now that you're awake and have eaten, shouldn't we get down to business?" Qin Rushan's voice suddenly deepened, carrying a dangerous huskiness.
Li Xianglian's body stiffened...
"Brother Shan...it's...it's not even dark yet..."
She pleaded softly, her face flushed crimson, "Besides...didn't we agree to move? We...we need to pack our things..."
"What's the point of packing up anything? Throw away all the junk and buy new stuff when we get to the county town."
Qin Rushan gave her no chance to escape, flipping her over and pinning her down.
"As for moving..."
Qin Rushan's hand had already slipped inside her clothes, igniting a fire in her sensitive area. "That's for tomorrow. Today, pay me back the interest I owe for these past three days."
"No...nothing's wrong..." Li Xianglian's words were cut off by the man's hot lips and tongue.
The temperature inside the room rose instantly, overshadowing the setting sun outside the window.
The wooden bed started rocking again, making people blush and their hearts race. The creaking sound penetrated the earthen wall and went straight into the neighboring yard.
Separated by a wall.
Aunt Zhao was cursing so hard that her throat was practically burning. Just as she was about to stop and catch her breath, she suddenly heard that noise coming from next door again.
Those sounds were even louder than before.
Aunt Zhao's cursing stopped abruptly, as if an old duck had been grabbed by the neck, her wrinkled face instantly turning a deep liver color.
She grabbed the broom from the ground and slammed it against the wall, trembling with anger.
"Shameless! Aren't you done yet?!"
However, the sound didn't stop on the other side of the wall; instead, it grew even louder.

As soon as the sun climbed above the treetops, the Li family's melon patch was bustling with activity.
It rained heavily last night, and the soil in the ground is soft and slippery; when you step on it, it just gets into the gaps between your toes.
The lush green melon vines spread all over the ground, and round, plump watermelons hid under the leaves, a delightful sight to behold.
"This area is perfectly ripe."
Li Jianshe was an old hand at this; he flicked the melon rind lightly with his finger, producing a deep, resonant "thump, thump" sound. "That kind of sound means it's juicy inside, so sweet it'll make your teeth ache. Weimin, catch!"
Li Jianshe picked up a large watermelon weighing over ten kilograms and handed it behind his back.
Li Weimin quickly reached out to take it.
This melon is heavy, with a smooth skin that looks like it's been waxed.
He had just caught one and hadn't even stood up properly when his father handed him another.
"Ouch!" Li Weimin slipped and almost fell into the mud pit along with the melon.
This skinny guy doesn't usually exercise, and when he suddenly does this kind of heavy work, his arms are sore and trembling.
A hand steadily supported his lower back.
Li Xiaotao arrived at some point, and with one hand, she picked up the watermelon that almost fell to the ground, as easily as if she were handling a ball.
"Place them by the car."
Li Xiaotao gave him a disdainful look. "You don't need to show off your strength for this kind of work. Don't break the melons; they're worth money."
Li Weimin blushed and was about to make a few words of explanation when he saw Li Xiaotao bend down, pick up a large watermelon in each hand, and walk briskly towards the cart at the edge of the field.
His strides were even bigger than his, and his back view exuded a reassuring power.
This is my wife.
Looking at that figure from behind, Li Weimin felt a surge of warmth in his heart.
Although he was a bit fierce, his efficiency in getting things done was unmatched in the surrounding area.
He stopped complaining of being tired and gritted his teeth to quicken his pace.
The family worked for more than an hour, and the borrowed cart was piled up like a small mountain.
To prevent the road from being bumpy, Li Xiaotao specially laid a thick layer of wheat straw underneath.
"Alright, this truckload must weigh five or six hundred pounds."
Li Jianshe wiped his sweat, looking at the truckload of melons with hope in his eyes. "Weimin, you go to town with Xiaotao. Be careful on the way, don't get into any conflicts. If anyone checks, just... just say you're visiting relatives to give gifts!"
"Yes, Father."
Li Weimin tightened the towel hanging around his neck and walked to the front of the cart.
He tightened the tripwire, which was made of thick hemp rope, around his shoulders, leaned forward, and his legs seemed to be nailed to the ground as he exerted force.
"rise--!"
The cart creaked and groaned as it slowly began to move.
Li Xiaotao didn't pull from the front, but pushed from behind.
Her hand rested on the back of the car, seemingly without much force, but Li Weimin could clearly feel the weight on his shoulder lighten considerably.
Once we left the dirt road at the village entrance and got onto the slightly smoother main road, the speed picked up.
This is the time when the village's idle men come out to bask in the sun.
Under the old locust tree, Lai Ziliu was squatting there, a blade of grass dangling from his mouth, his shifty eyes darting around.
This guy is a notorious good-for-nothing in the village. He's over thirty and doesn't have a proper job. He spends all his time gossiping and loves to see people make a fool of themselves.
When Lai Ziliu saw Li Weimin pulling the cart over, his eyes lit up. He spat the grass roots in his mouth onto the ground, slapped his thigh, and stood up.
"Hey! Isn't this the groom?"
Lai Ziliu deliberately raised his voice like a broken gong, attracting several idlers to gather around. "Where are you going to make your fortune so early in the morning? Weimin, look at how your legs are wobbling, you must have suffered a lot last night!"
His shout immediately drew laughter from the surrounding crowd.
"I think it's not suffering, it's being scared, isn't it?"
"Hahaha! Weimin, I heard your new wife was screaming pretty loudly last night? Did she kick you off the bed? If you can't take it, just say the word. We brothers may not be able to beat that tigress, but we can still help you call for help!"
Lai Ziliu got more and more excited as he talked, even reaching out to touch the watermelon on the truck: "This watermelon is pretty good, shall we cut it open and share it with you guys to quench your thirst? Consider it a celebratory watermelon!"
Li Weimin stopped, panting heavily.
In the past, upon hearing such nonsense, he would have been so ashamed that his face turned red and he wished he could disappear into the ground, or he would have cut the melon in a smile to appease the situation.
But today is different.
He remembered the duck egg yolk his wife had peeled for him that morning, and the burning hot body in the bed last night…
Suffering?
That's fucking bliss!
What do these bachelors who've never even touched a woman's hand know?
Li Weimin neither responded nor dodged the question.
He pulled the rope around his shoulders up a bit, and instead of shrinking his neck, he puffed out his chest.
He glanced sideways at Lai Ziliu, a smug look even playing on his lips, as if to say, "I'm happy to do it, you can be jealous."
"Want to eat some melon?"
Li Weimin chuckled, "Wait until you're all married before you talk about it! Don't wait until you're old and gray to even get a warm bed!"
