Chapter 69 Social Death in an Instant
Chapter 69 A Moment of Social Destruction
"Jiraiya, what are you doing!" a delicate shout rang out.
Instantly, Jiraiya felt a surge of electricity run from the top of his head to his tailbone, and he froze on the spot. A long-forgotten, unforgettable painful memory welled up in his mind.
That's a painful memory from when I was a child, when someone punched me and broke several of my ribs.
Jiraiya turned around stiffly, as if frozen in place, and what came into view was the person he had been thinking about day and night, but who he desperately did not want to see here—Tsunade.
"Tsunade, you...you let me explain," Jiraiya hurriedly tried to explain.
But Tsunade wasn't listening to him at all. She walked towards Jiraiya with an angry expression, her fists clenched tightly, as if she was about to strike at any moment.
Seeing Tsunade's posture, Jiraiya became even more flustered and at a loss, taking several steps back. "No~ no, Tsunade, don't come any closer."
However, he seemed to have forgotten where he was now, with only a thin window behind him.
Then there was a loud "crack" as the window shattered, and Jiraiya fell into the women's bathhouse behind him through the broken window.
During the cloud-filled time, the women's bathhouse became a chaotic mess.
"You pervert! Catch the pervert!"
"Kill this filthy scoundrel!"
"Capture him and hand him over to the Hokage!"
"Bang bang bang!" Heavy footsteps came, and then a woman with an unusually "plump" figure walked over with an arrogant gait, shouting angrily as she did so.
"Get out of the way! How dare a man barge into a women's bathhouse right in front of me, Akimichi Aya! I'll smash his eyes in!"
At that moment, Tsunade on the rooftop suddenly transformed into Taichi, completely bewildered. She had only intended to scare Jiraiya, never expecting such a strong reaction.
He was so frightened that he fell into the women's bathhouse, listening to the commotion below. The "crackling" sounds of chasing and hitting continued from below towards the street.
Clearly, Jiraiya couldn't withstand the onslaught of so many naked women and has now fled in panic.
Taiichi looked around to make sure no one had noticed him, then quickly jumped off the roof and chased after Jiraiya in the direction he had fled.
As expected of Jiraiya, being chased by women is clearly not a first or second time. Just look at him, turning left and right, running for two blocks before leaving his pursuers far behind.
Taiyi was following behind the women, but as he followed, he realized that they had lost sight of the person in question.
Having no other choice, Taiichi could only follow the trail to see if he could find Jiraiya, and so he walked all the way to the grove next to Training Ground No. 3.
"You're looking for me!" A sinister voice came from behind Taiichi.
Startled, Taiichi leaped forward, simultaneously turning to assume a defensive stance. Upon seeing Jiraiya behind him, whose face was grim, Taiichi couldn't help but break into an awkward, silly grin.
There's no way around it; looking at Jiraiya now, anyone would feel guilty about their past actions.
At this moment, Jiraiya had thick dark circles under his eyes, his white hair was all messed up, and his face was not much better than crooked. His clothes were also riddled with holes and missing pieces of cloth.
"Jiraiya-sensei, what are you doing here? I followed the crowd to see what was going on, I didn't expect to find you here!" Taichi said, feigning surprise.
"I heard someone was caught peeping into a women's bathhouse. Did you see it?" Tai was still trying to deny it.
"Keep making things up, let's see how long you can keep this up." Jiraiya grabbed Taichi's ear.
"And you still call me teacher? Is this how you treat your teacher?!" Jiraiya said bitterly.
"Ah~ Ah~ It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!" Taichi cried out dramatically, "Jiraiya-sensei, it's going to fall off, my ear is going to fall off!"
Seeing Taiichi's exaggerated behavior, Jiraiya was both annoyed and amused. Releasing Taiichi, he added, "It's better that he's gone; at least he won't be causing me trouble all the time."
"You ruined our perfect field trip!" Jiraiya muttered to himself.
"Jiraiya-sensei, I didn't mean to. I just wanted to scare you, but I didn't expect the window to be so flimsy that you fell down like that," Taichi explained.
He certainly couldn't say that Jiraiya was traumatized by Tsunade, which is why he crashed through the window and fell. If he did, Jiraiya might beat him so badly he couldn't get out of bed today.
"Jiraiya-sensei, as an apology, let me treat you to dinner today!" Taichi said cautiously.
Jiraiya glanced at Taiichi and said, "At least you have some conscience."
He laughed and put his arm around Taiyi's shoulder as they walked into the village. He showed no trace of his anger from before, but his outfit ruined his heroic aura.
At the izakaya, Taichi ordered Jiraiya's favorite dishes and his favorite sake as an apology.
Of course, he himself can only drink juice.
The two ate, drank, and chatted together. During this time, Taiichi also asked Jiraiya some questions about his training.
Towards the end of lunch, Taichi asked, "Jiraiya-sensei, did you know that Tsunade-sensei has left the village?"
Jiraiya's hand, which was holding chopsticks, froze in mid-air, and he stood there speechless for a long time.
"When did this happen?" He had left Konoha on a mission and hadn't been in the village for a long time. And clearly, no one had told Jiraiya that Tsunade had left.
"It's been about half a month. They left with Shizune in tow," Taiichi replied quietly.
Upon hearing that Shizune had been taken along, Jiraiya became even more silent.
Seeing that the conversation had touched on Jiraiya's painful memories, Taichi stopped talking, and the scene fell silent once again.
After a long silence, Taichi asked again, "Jiraiya-sensei, do you think Tsunade-sensei will come back?"
Jiraiya looked at Taiichi and said, "It's hard to say." After a moment of silence, he continued, "This matter might depend on you."
After listening to Jiraiya's words for a long time, Taichi realized that Jiraiya's words made a lot of sense. Moreover, he did hope that Tsunade could return as soon as possible.
This is not only important for the village, but also for Tsunade herself. You should know that in the original work, Tsunade wandered for almost 20 years, and her condition did not improve at all.
She continued to drown her sorrows in alcohol and gambling, and even her hemophobia showed no signs of improvement. It's clear how decadent Tsunade had become over the years. And those golden twenty years of her life had been wasted.
Taiichi felt sorry for Tsunade and felt it was a waste of her life, and he was equally angry at the inaction of the Third Hokage and Jiraiya.
"Yes, I will definitely find a way to bring Tsunade-sensei back." Taichi made up his mind.
"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore." Jiraiya ended the conversation: "I've been hearing you call Tsunade-sensei the whole time. How come Tsunade took you as her apprentice?" Jiraiya asked casually.
"Yes, before she left, Tsunade-sensei took me as her apprentice and also passed on the Summoning Scroll to me." Taichi didn't hide anything from Jiraiya.
"Pfft!" The wine he had just drunk was immediately spat out. He had only asked casually, but he didn't expect to get a positive answer.
"Great, I didn't expect Tsuna to finally have a true successor." Raiya was also excited. "Ha~ha~"
"What's all the fuss about, Teacher Laiye!"
