Chapter 63 Bruce is mine!
Chapter 63 Bruce is mine!
Then, Tony got down to business.
"Mark Parker, as you can see, I'm in a very bad situation right now."
He said seriously, "Whether it's the mass appearance of lizard monsters, the military's suspicion, or the problems within Stark Industries, all of these are aimed at me."
Mark nodded slightly, also sensing that things were getting a bit tricky.
As seen with Norman Osborn, not all the supervillains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will follow a predetermined path to drive the plot.
They have their own thoughts and their own goals.
Once they encounter uncontrollable factors outside the plot, they will change their strategy, which will lead the event to another unknown direction.
Norman, unable to defeat Spider-Man, conceived the idea of creating the Green Goblin Army.
Professor Kurt will also cooperate with Green Goblin because he is no match for Spider-Man.
Even in this Tony kidnapping incident, the mastermind behind it all thought of joining forces with others.
Thinking of this, Mark couldn't help but feel worried for Peter.
But no matter what, Peter's strength is not weak.
They may not necessarily participate in these heinous incidents every time.
Therefore, Mark believes he doesn't need to worry too much.
He held the check Tony had given him, understanding what the other man wanted to say.
"You want me to help you?" Mark asked.
Tony nodded. "Yes, I need your protection until I successfully build the armor."
Of course, the payment can be calculated separately. You know, I have money, lots and lots of money.
"I know you're very rich."
Mark smiled.
"No problem, I'll help you."
"I know you won't refuse."
Tony breathed a sigh of relief. "You can move in. You can choose any room you like."
"No problem, but I need to tell my family first; I don't want them to worry."
"Of course, that's as it should be."
Ten minutes later, Mark came downstairs.
He evaded the group of reporters lying in wait and found Gwen near the parking lot.
"I'm not going to school today, I have something to do."
Gwen looked at Mark, who was all smiles, with a strange expression.
"You... Mr. Stark gave you money, didn't he?"
"what?"
Mark was surprised. "You actually guessed that?"
Gwen chuckled. "Of course, nothing can make you this happy except money."
"Okay, I also want to know, how much tax do I have to pay on ten million?" Mark asked the crucial question.
This is what he cares about most.
Gwen, who has owned patents, is certainly well aware of this.
"You don't own a company, so this is personal income. Considering your status as a mercenary and the recently adjusted tax rates in New York, you might end up only being able to... Let me calculate, it seems you'll have to pay about half."
"What?"
Mark sighed deeply, "Half? This is hard-earned money... No, I also have to give half to Wade, that's just..."
"We still have to pay taxes after splitting it in half," Gwen added.
mark:"........"
Indeed, agreeing to help Tony resolve the subsequent troubles was the right choice.
Otherwise, the amount of money he has after paying taxes is simply not enough for him to achieve financial freedom.
Thinking of this, Mark's excitement was finally forced to subside.
After saying goodbye to Gwen, he went straight to Hell's Kitchen and found Wade.
"I've got the money. We agreed to split it in half."
"Um?"
Wade stared at the check Mark handed him, his expression strange.
He wanted to reach out, but he was torn between his own desires and his inner struggle.
Actually, Tony Stark had already given him the check that day.
It's really not good to be taking Mark's money now.
But he desperately needs money.
So, torn between his feelings, he reluctantly declined Mark's offer.
"I don't want it anymore," he said through gritted teeth.
Mark frowned. "You don't want it?"
"Um."
"Sure?"
"Yes, I didn't do anything, so I'm not entitled to this money."
"Yeah?"
Mark sized up Wade in front of him.
He certainly didn't believe that Wade considered money as dirt.
Suddenly, he seemed to have thought of something.
"You have a terminal illness?" he suddenly asked.
Upon hearing this, Wade's expression changed slightly.
"I don't."
"You have."
Mark grabbed the other man's wrist and stared intently into Wade's eyes.
"Cancer, right?"
"How...how did you know?" Wade's eyes darted around.
Mark shook his head. "Just a guess."
In the Marvel storyline, Wade agreed to human experimentation because he was suffering from cancer, and that's how he became Deadpool.
Of course, there are different versions of Deadpool's immortality in different Marvel universes.
Mark was aware of this.
So he wasn't worried about Wade's health at all.
"It's okay, buddy. If you participate in more human experiments, you might just recover someday," he comforted the other man.
Upon hearing this, Wade felt even more desperate.
"Mark, you're my savior," he said sarcastically.
Mark shrugged. "You have to believe me, I'm a sorcerer, I can predict your fate."
"Calculate your fate first before you talk to me about these things."
Wade rolled his eyes.
Mark patted the other person on the shoulder. "Anyway, believe me, and you'll have eternal life."
"I don't want immortality."
After chatting for a while, Mark left Wade's house to go to the bank to complete the necessary procedures.
In the evening, Mark returned home with his old model.
He didn't tell Ben Parker and May about it.
He was pulled to the sofa by the two men to have a heart-to-heart talk before he could say much.
"My son, remember this: with great power comes great responsibility," Ben Parker said to Mark with a serious expression.
Mei, standing to the side, was the same.
"My child, I have only one request for you: do not use your abilities to do evil."
Seeing how serious the two were about it, Mark glanced at the television screen.
Clearly, the two already knew about Mark's current situation.
Fortunately, Tony had promised Mark that he would use his money to stop the reporters from disturbing the Parker family's peaceful life.
This gave Ben Parker and May the time and energy to talk to Mark about these things.
Mark had no choice but to agree.
Before long, he finally returned to his bedroom and began his demon-hunting journey.
After today's incident, he felt the deep malice the world harbored towards him.
The abilities of Green Goblin and the Lizardman are already commonplace, and the mastermind behind them is still unknown.
Even if the other side can kill Tony, those guys will definitely not let it go so easily because Mark has ruined their plans time and time again.
Therefore, Mark believes that his abilities are far from sufficient.
As for Peter, Spider-Man is very strong, but that lonely, cursed destiny is a deadly thing.
It's good enough if Peter doesn't cause trouble; Mark can't rely on Spider-Man to prevent potential crises.
In a flash, the space around Mark distorted.
cabin.
Mark opened the door and shouted, "Bruce!!"
"I'm here, I've always been here!"
Mary Jane next door has stopped going to work and spends all her time waiting for Spider-Man to call her.
Finally, she got what she had been waiting for.
But today, she wasn't the only blues.
Black Street is in turmoil tonight.
Various factions are determined to seize ownership of Bruce...
