Chapter 155 That Year, 8, Standing Like a Minion

Chapter 155 That Year, 8, Standing Like a Minion

Russell approached Dr. Banner, patted him on the shoulder, and a flash of silver light disappeared.

"Dr. Banner, go ahead and have fun. Hulk won't be coming out tonight."

Dr. Banner's expression shifted; he sensed that his connection with the Hulk had been severed.

Dr. Banner watched Russell's retreating figure, his eyes flickering.

During this time, Dr. Banner has been researching how to eliminate or control the Hulk.

But there has been no progress.

Unexpectedly, the problem that had troubled him for many days was solved by Russell with a simple snap of his fingers.

On the other side, Russell walked to a relatively quiet corner and found a woman who didn't fit in.

"I thought Tony's bachelor party would be full of young and pretty girls, except for a few of us."

The woman raised an eyebrow, her tone unfriendly.

"What, am I not pretty?"

Russell replied without hesitation, "You're not young."

"Sir, you are really impolite."

"Huh? Isn't it impolite of me to compliment your beauty?" Russell said innocently.

"I don't have time to waste on your nonsense. I'm not like those scoundrels. Go find someone else."

After saying that, the woman got up and walked towards Tony, trying to push her way through the crowd.

Russell smiled nonchalantly, picked up the coconut juice he had just swiped from somewhere, and started drinking it.

He recognized the woman—Maya Hansen.

A botanist had a one-night stand with Tony at a science party more than a decade ago.

Of course, this is not the point.

Importantly, she is one of the principal researchers of the Extremis virus.

The other one is Killian.

He was also at that technology gala.

Like Maya Hansen, he also had his eye on Tony.

However, he was stood up and waited on the rooftop all night.

"Tony, I have something important to discuss with you."

Maya Hansen couldn't compete with the younger girls.

Helpless, he could only shout from the outside, trying to attract Tony's attention.

Unfortunately, the music was loud, and there were countless girls chanting Tony's name.

A moment later, Maya Hansen returned to Russell's side and said anxiously:

"I need to speak with Tony about something important. Can you call him out for me?"

Russell looked up, glanced at Maya Hansen, and ignored her.

Maya Hansen took a deep breath and said seriously:

“I’m serious. I’ve received information that someone is planning an attack here. We must notify Tony as soon as possible and evacuate the crowd.”

"I know, but so what?"

"Everyone here will die, including you."

Russell smiled.

Seeing that Russell remained unmoved, Maya Hansen became so anxious that she couldn't help but swear.

"Fuck! I'm not lying to you!"

“I believe you. But I don’t care.” Russell shrugged indifferently and suggested, “If I were you, I would go to that person for help.”

Russell pointed in the direction Steve was.

Even though Steve chose a secluded corner to sit down, a group of girls still gathered around him.

"Who is he?"

"Steve Rogers."

"Captain America? Didn't he disappear seventy years ago?"

“Missing, not dead, right?” Russell retorted. “Believe it or not.”

Maya Hansen walked towards Steve with some skepticism.

This time, she finally managed to squeeze in and strike up a conversation with Steve.

But it was too late.

Somewhere, a tall, well-dressed man with slicked-back hair was looking down at a stopwatch, counting down the seconds. The smile on his lips grew wider and wider.

More than a decade ago, Tony Stark made him wait in the cold wind all night.

Tonight, he will let Tony Stark die in an explosion and flames.

"Five, four, three, two, one, boom!"

As the countdown ended, a blinding flash of light suddenly appeared.

The Extremis virus, once injected, can comprehensively strengthen the body, with its self-healing ability being particularly outstanding.

However, it has a major side effect: instability.

It is easy to turn the injector into a living bomb.

Among the girls in the villa, several were human bombs injected with the Extremis virus by Killian.

The moment the flames burst forth, time seemed to stand still in the eyes of the three people.

Loki first looked at Russell and saw that Russell smiled at him, then did nothing.

Loki looked away and gazed at the source of the fire, where he saw a pile of minced meat gathering together and slowly shooting outwards.

Meanwhile, someone tried to grab the pile of minced meat and ran towards the open space outside the villa.

The man noticed Loki looking at him, turned around and smiled back at Loki.

It's Pietro!

Loki formed a hand seal, and a blast of cold air sprayed onto the shredded flesh, temporarily freezing it into an ice block for Pietro to grab.

Pietro nodded gratefully to Loki.

The next instant, time resumed its normal flow.

Rumble!!!

A loud roar echoed outside the villa.

The shockwave pounded against the villa walls, sending debris flying.

After the roar, there was a brief silence.

Then screams erupted, and the crowd instantly descended into chaos.

Dr. Banner, with the soft, fragrant woman in his arms, froze.

Oh no, Hulk can't get out now.

"Quiet! Everyone lie down!" Steve and Colonel Rhodes tried to calm the crowd and restore order, but to little avail.

"Jarvis!"

Tony opened a portal, and a suit of armor flew in from the other side, quickly donning the gear.

“There’s more than one suicide bomber, Pietro. I’ll point them out to you. Take them away.”

After putting on his suit, Tony regained his composure.

Through infrared scanning, Pietro identified several individuals with abnormal body temperatures.

Pietro cooperated by leading the group away from the party and away from the villa.

Rumble!!!

Rumble!!!

Rumble!!!

Three more booming sounds signaled the end of the crisis and the party was over.

"Jarvis, alert mode."

Tony stepped out of his suit, looking at the chaotic scene with a grim expression.

The bachelor party being ruined is a minor issue; the important thing is to find out who's behind it.

Tony considered himself somewhat capable of protecting himself, but Pepper certainly wasn't.

Before long, he too will be a married man.

“Tony, the female doctor said she has a lead.”

Steve led Maya Hansen to Tony and said.

This time, no one was crowding Maya Hansen.

Looking at Maya Hansen, who had been brought over by Steve, Tony said indifferently:

"Hello, ma'am. Do you have any leads?"

Maya Hansen looked at Tony with a sorrowful expression; she hadn't expected that Tony had already forgotten her.

"Don't you remember me, Tony?"

Tony frowned.

"Sir. Her name is Maya Hansen. On New Year's Eve in 1999, at a technology gala in Bern, Switzerland, you had a one-night stand with her."

Jarvis's voice came through the earpiece, reminding Tony.

“I remember now, you are Dr. Hansen. Dr. Hansen, do you have any leads regarding this attack? Please tell me.”
