Chapter 70 Goodbye, Tom Marvolo Riddell
Chapter 70 Goodbye, Tom Marvolo Riddell
I closed the book and sighed softly. The knowledge within had captivated me, and I couldn't tear myself away for a long time.
I looked up and around. The fire in the Slytherin common room had gone out, leaving only a few faint embers flickering.
I stood up, stretched, and felt a little tired.
I picked up the book and walked towards the door.
I opened the door, and a blast of cold air hit me, making me shiver.
I wrapped my robe tighter around myself and walked out of the lounge.
The corridor was quiet, with only the echo of my footsteps. I walked along the corridor, passing portraits, the figures in them all asleep, making no sound.
I arrived at the stairwell, but the lights on the stairs were dim, making it difficult for me to see the path.
I walked carefully, afraid of falling.
I arrived at my dormitory room, opened the door, and went inside.
The dormitory was warm, and the stove was still burning, emitting a faint light.
I walked to the bedside, put down the book, and took off my robe.
There's not much time left in the plan; this semester is really busy.
(The sponsor travels through Tom Marvolo Riddle's teenage years, specifically during his fifth grade.)
[Jin: Okay, it's all arranged. Countdown to the start of the time travel event~]
On a dark and stormy night, Tom Marvolo Riddle was sitting alone in his Slytherin dormitory, studying an ancient book of magic.
Suddenly, a strange light flashed behind him, and then a boy with golden hair as bright as the sun appeared, his eyes sparkling with a mysterious light.
He stood tall and straight, his slender figure exuding an innate sense of majesty and nobility.
Riddle seemed to sense something behind him. He turned around and was startled by the sudden appearance of the boy. He looked at the boy warily and asked, "Ayers, what are you doing here?"
I smiled slightly, revealing a barely perceptible hint of a smile, and replied, "Tom Marvolo, it's been a long time."
Riddle looked at the person who had adopted him and then disappeared for a while.
He was now wearing Slytherin's school uniform, the black robes clinging to his body and showing off his tall and straight figure.
The collar and cuffs of his robe were trimmed with green, echoing the light in his eyes.
He wore the Slytherin badge on his chest, a silver snake, winding and lifelike.
He wore a black belt around his waist, from which hung his wand.
A wand with a slightly dark blue tint; this is the second time I've seen Ayers' wand.
The person before him was no longer the adoptive parent who had a particular fondness for gold. As the adoptive parent walked toward him with firm and powerful strides, Riddle took out his wand and pointed it at him.
My lips curled up slightly, a faint smile playing on my lips, as if I were full of confidence and control over everything around me.
Facing Tom Marvolo Riddle's wand, I said, "It's been so long since we last met, and this is how you treat me? I'm heartbroken." I took out a small handkerchief from my pocket and pretended to wipe the corner of my eye.
"Your sudden appearance startled me." Seeing my current status, Riddle felt that this was much more normal; this was the Ayers he had met that year.
"You little ingrate, want a hug?" I feel like I totally messed up Tom Marvolo Riddle that year.
"Thank you, but no need. How did you get into Hogwarts?"
Riddle is still used to me, her adoptive parent, who occasionally goes crazy.
"I've never graduated from Hogwarts. I've always been able to come to Hogwarts, and I miss you." I really haven't graduated in real life, I'm not lying, right?
"Miss me? Are you kidding me? You've been gone for so many years, I could have forgotten you if you hadn't shown up." Riddle was indignant; he didn't even know how he had spent the past few years.
He lived alone in that house, and the image of the person in front of him was always there. They had only been together for a year, but the less he saw the person in front of him, the more he missed him. He was almost obsessed.
"Tom Marvolo, is it so hard to admit you miss me?" He gently pushed away Riddle's wand, which was still pointing at him, walked up to him, and pulled him into his arms.
I hugged him tightly, as if I wanted to merge him into my own body.

I hugged him a few times when he was a child, and now he's the same height as me. I have to say, Lao Fu is really tall. He's already as tall as me now, and he'll probably grow even taller later on.
His voice trembled slightly: "I didn't."
I said with a hint of a laugh, "Yes, yes, you didn't expect that I'm the only one who's been thinking about how you're doing."
We embraced each other, feeling each other's warmth and heartbeats.
At this moment, we only have each other in our world.
After a long while, I gently released him, looked into his eyes and said, "You've lost weight. Didn't I teach you how to cook? How could you starve yourself like this?"
He shook his head: "It's no fun eating alone."
I gently rubbed his face with a pained expression. All the chubby little things I'd raised for him were gone. "It's all a waste of my time teaching you to cook. If I hadn't come back to check on you, you might have starved to the bone by now."
He nodded and gripped my hand tightly: "It's hard to say, maybe."
[Gold: Ding—You have successfully paired up with your target Tom Marvolo Riddle.]
Rewards include 100 Bond Points, 100 Experience Points, 10 Favorability Points, 1 Luck Point, and 10 Galleons.
"Has anyone bullied you at school? How are you doing?" I, this butterfly, have already changed. Dumbledore didn't go to pick up Tom Marvolo Riddle, so things shouldn't get too tense between them now.
“Ayers, do you know something?” Riddle didn’t answer my question, but instead asked me one.
"Tom Marvolo, if you trust me, don't ask too many questions. There are some things you're better off not knowing." I didn't want to tell him what would happen in the future. I still wanted him to make his own choice, and whatever he chose, I would take things back.
When Riddle heard me say that, he fell silent this time, just staring at me, and finally had no choice but to give up.
Through the year we spent together, he learned that if I didn't want to tell him something, there was no point in him asking; I definitely wouldn't tell him.
Helpless, Riddle had no choice but to put aside his questions. Luckily, I was here. He had learned a lot of things before but didn't quite understand them, so now he could ask me.
Fortunately, even though I was forced to be a fake academic genius, I was still able to answer Riddle's various questions.
It turns out Riddle has now come into contact with dark magic, and it seems he's preparing to unleash the basilisk.
