Chapter 15 Climbing
Chapter 15 Climbing
Iron Glory's screams once again drew the attention of the others. Boromir snapped out of his daze from the screams, clutching the Ring tightly in his hand as he looked at Iron Glory.
Tie Hui gasped in pain as he felt a sharp pain in his chest.
However, the low temperature in the surrounding environment and the cold air he inhaled only made him feel toothache.
"I...I'm fine!" Tie Hui bent over and plopped down on the snow. "I twisted my ankle when I rolled down, but a little rubbing will do!"
Tie Hui bent over as much as possible so that others could not perceive his true pain.
After watching for a while, everyone felt that there was nothing serious and turned their attention to Boromir.
Aragorn, in particular, shouted, "Boromir! You should return it to its rightful owner!"
Boromir listened to Aragorn's words and looked into his wary eyes.
He turned and looked back at the others who were watching him.
He gave a friendly smile and then stepped forward to hand the Ring to Frodo, who was wary of him.
Crisis averted!
The group moved forward once again!
This time, Tie Hui followed at the very back, occasionally rubbing his chest, which had just been scalded.
At the same time, he looked at Polomir with a complicated expression.
Since the Emperor had just burned him, no matter how much he called out, there was no response.
What should have been a great opportunity was wasted and slipped away right before his eyes!
This made it hard for him not to suspect that the Emperor and Ilúvatar had made some kind of shady deal!
I don't know if Ilúvatar is male or female.
However, it seems that the Emperor is different for every person, so whether Ilúvatar is male or female... doesn't seem to matter!
The group remained silent until they reached a bend in the mountain peak, at which point they stopped to rest.
People started brewing hot tea and cooking food, making sure they were well-fed and warm before going inside, otherwise they could easily freeze to death.
Looking at Gandalf smoking his pipe, Tie Hui asked directly, "Are we really going this way?"
Having lost the chance to obtain the One Ring, he naturally didn't want to follow that path again.
After all, on that kind of cliffside corridor, there was a fierce wind, snow, and falling rocks.
You could lose your life if you're not careful!
If everyone in the original storyline is unharmed, then they all have the protagonist's halo!
He was the only one who had transmigrated from another time. If he was unlucky or if Ilúvatar tried to do something underhanded, he would have to run away immediately.
Moreover, they didn't get the One Ring, and the gift Legolas mentioned is still in Galadriel's hands!
To only get a set of dragon scale armor to take back is really a huge loss.
And more importantly...
He also really wanted to go down into the Moria Mines, where Gandalf was dragged down by the Balrog and transformed into the White Wizard!
As long as things go as in the original story, then for a period of time in the future, the team will be one less person who could pose the greatest threat to him.
This would greatly reduce the difficulty for him in planning the Lord of the Rings!
Moreover, there are countless orcs there, from whom he can obtain some system energy.
After all, the 60-day free stay period is almost up!
Gimli, sitting on a futon and eating sausage heartily, chimed in, "Yes, Gandalf! Why can't we go through the Moria Mines? My cousin is there! He'll prepare plenty of wine and delicious roast meat to welcome us, let us rest for a while, and then set off refreshed!"
As he spoke, Jinli's face was full of longing.
"No! This is the best choice!" Gandalf refused without even thinking!
He knew exactly what was in that mine!
Boromir then spoke up, but his words were purposeful: "We can take the western route and reach the Rohan Pass!"
"No, that would mean we'd have to pass through Isengard's territory!" Aragorn shook his head, indicating that it was unacceptable. "Gandalf has already said that Saruman has betrayed us and is brewing a war machine there! Once we pass through, we'll be attacked by countless orc armies!"
Pippin, Merri, and Sam listened to their conversation without interfering, and instead quickly fried sausages, bacon, and bread.
They feasted there and even had the leisure to brew a pot of black tea.
Only Sam would occasionally put the cooked food onto Frodo's plate.
"Can't we summon the Eagle King and the others?" Tie Hui gulped down a cup of black tea, feeling warm all over. "We can definitely summon them and fly us over the Misty Mountains!"
Upon hearing this, aside from the hobbits,
Everyone else stared at him speechlessly.
Tie Hui was completely baffled: It's just summoning a few giant eagles, isn't it?
Why do they all look at me like that?
At this moment, Aragorn spoke up: "Thulag! That Falcon King is a Maiar! He's on par with Gandalf! How could we possibly order him around at will!"
Tie Hui suddenly realized why the original series didn't summon the giant eagle when crossing the mountains!
So that's how it is!
"Alright then!" Tie Hui said nonchalantly, "I agree with Gandalf's suggestion! Let's cross the mountains then!"
Anyway, I'll be singing folk songs with Saruman from afar eventually, and I'll still have no choice but to go through Moria's mines.
After a rest, everyone set off again, full of energy!
The snow was waist-deep, and the group struggled to move forward; the howling wind blew, cutting their faces as if by a knife.
Saruman's magical attack arrived as expected, and Gandalf was there to fight back with all his might.
Like an outsider, Tie Hui leaned on his thick wooden stick, wrapped his cotton-padded coat tighter around himself at the back of the line, and silently watched everything.
In the end, Gandalf had no choice but to agree to Frodo's plan to cross the mountains from the Moria mines, despite the opposition of the crowd.
In an instant, the back line became the front line!
Tie Hui turned around and cleared the way for him!
Fortunately, the path they had taken to get there had already been cleared, which made their journey down the mountain much faster.
When they reached the sunny side, the warm sun instantly dispelled the chill from everyone.
After everyone gathered their thick clothes and handed them to Tie Hui, they carefully began to descend the mountain along the same path.
"ah--"
Suddenly, a huge howl came from afar, instantly piercing everyone's eardrums.
Ringwraiths!
Gandalf looked up and saw nine black dots rapidly approaching them in the distant sky!
"Hurry up!"
The group quickened their pace immediately, and the atmosphere became tense.
On this steep slope covered with ice and snow, one wrong step and you could slip into a bottomless abyss.
Tie Hui turned his head and looked at the rapidly enlarging black dot on the horizon.
Based on the estimated distance, the M36 laser rifle's maximum effective range in atmospheric conditions is only about 400 meters.
They had to wait until they got close before they could fire. He turned to look behind him; Frodo was in the center of the group, being protected by the others.
