"Huh? Is it okay? I've never fished before." Andy hesitated, unsure whether she should try. After all, she was usually a homebody, and because she couldn't interact with people, her biggest hobbies were reading and surfing the internet.
"Haha! It's okay, come here, I'll teach you. It's a lot of fun, especially when you're reeling in the fish." Although it was his first time fishing, he already had four hours of experience, so Su Chang shamelessly decided to be Andy's teacher.
"Well... okay then." Thinking of the sense of security he felt in Su Chang's arms just now, Andy agreed almost unconsciously and went straight to Su Chang's side: "What do I need to do?"
"Come on, help me hold the stick, I'll teach you."
Andy carefully took the fishing rod from Su Chang, but as soon as his hand touched the rod, the fish pulled him forward and he stumbled.
"Haha, don't rush, calm down first." Su Chang quickly hugged her and tightened his grip. He had deliberately loosened his grip earlier, causing Andy to stumble.
Andy blushed and tried to adjust her position, but Su Chang seemed oblivious to the ambiguous posture and continued to struggle with the sea fish.
"Wow, it looks like it's almost up!" one of the crew members exclaimed excitedly.
Sure enough, a huge dark shadow gradually emerged from beneath the water.
"Keep pushing, you're almost there!" Su Chang encouraged.
Andy stared intently at the water's surface. Finally, a large fish leaped out of the water, splashing up a spray of water. A sailor grabbed a net and scooped up the fish.
"Yes! We did it!" Andy and Su Chang cheered loudly, and another crew member clapped in celebration.
But Andy suddenly realized that her actions with Su Chang were too ambiguous, and blushed as she said, "Um... I'll go first."
After Andy finished speaking, she ran towards the ship. Looking at Andy's shy appearance, Su Chang chuckled foolishly, thinking to himself, "This innocent girl is quite interesting."
He called out to Andy's retreating figure, "Andy, wait for me!"
Upon hearing Su Chang's voice, Andy paused for a moment, but instead of stopping, he quickened his pace.
Su Chang shook his head helplessly and muttered to himself, "This woman is embarrassed."
He greeted the two crew members and asked them to notify the captain to set sail, then he walked towards the ship.
Stepping inside the ship, Su Chang looked around, searching for Andy. A hint of anticipation crossed his face as he wondered, "Where has Andy gone?"
Finally, he spotted Andy in a corner. Andy was sitting there, head down, seemingly lost in thought.
Su Chang walked over quietly, sat down next to Andy, and said softly, "Andy, what are you thinking about?"
Andy looked up at Su Chang, then quickly looked down again and whispered, "No... I wasn't thinking about anything."
Seeing Andy's shy expression, Su Chang couldn't help but laugh and said, "Don't be shy, I'm not going to eat you."
Andy's face turned even redder. She bit her lip and mustered her courage to say, "Su Chang, thank you for taking me fishing today."
Su Chang looked at Andy and said earnestly, "You're welcome. As long as you're happy."
The two exchanged a smile, and a subtle atmosphere filled the air. Then, Guan Juer appeared out of nowhere.
"Wow! Sister Andy, Brother Su Chang, you're up so early?"
"Haha! Guan Guan, I didn't sleep all night, how come you got up so early?" Su Chang stopped teasing the shy Andy when he saw Guan Juer arrive.
"Huh? What did you do last night?" Guan Juer asked Su Chang with a surprised look.
"I went night fishing last night. What about you, Guan Guan? Why are you up so early?" Su Chang patted Guan Ju'er's head.
"Of course we have to see the sunrise when we go out to sea!" Guan Juer replied with a grin.
“That’s right, watching the sunrise at sea is quite different from watching it from a mountain,” Su Chang praised.
At this moment, Andy interjected, "Then let's go to the deck together to watch the sunrise."
"Great! Great!" Guan Juer clapped her hands excitedly.
So the three of them went to the bow of the ship together, waiting for the sun to rise. The sea breeze gently caressed their faces, bringing a slight coolness. In the distance, the sea gradually began to glow with an orange light.
As the sun slowly rose, the entire sea was bathed in a golden hue, a truly beautiful sight. Andy and Su Chang quietly admired the scenery, while Guan Juer kept taking photos, capturing this wonderful moment.
"So beautiful..." Andy exclaimed sincerely.
"Yes, it felt so good to watch the sunrise with you all." Su Chang turned to look at Andy, her eyes full of tenderness.
Chapter Thirty-Five: Setting Sail 3
"Wow! Guan Guan, Sister Andy, Brother Su Chang, you came to see the sunrise without telling us." Just as the three were enjoying the tranquility of the sunrise, Qiu Yingying's loud voice came from behind them.
The three turned around, and Qiu Yingying, Fan Shengmei, Qu Xiaoxiao, and Jiang Lai walked towards them together.
"Why are you all up?" Andy asked with a smile.
"We planned to get up early this morning to watch the sunrise yesterday. As soon as we saw light in the room, we came out," Qiu Yingying explained.
"Yes, that's great. Watching the sunrise here is really beautiful," Su Chang agreed.
The group chatted and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise in a very harmonious atmosphere.
Suddenly, Qu Xiaoxiao seemed to have discovered something and pointed into the distance, shouting, "Look, there seems to be something over there."
Everyone looked in the direction she was pointing and sure enough, they saw something swimming in the sea in the distance.
"What's that? Why is it here so early?" Qiu Yingying asked curiously.
"We'll know once we go and take a look," Jiang Lai said, and ran towards the driver's seat.
The others didn't follow; they knew Jiang Lai would handle it, and they stood at the bow of the boat, trying their best to see into the distance.
Soon, the boat headed towards the unidentified object. As it drew closer, everyone finally saw that it was an unknown fish, which was not afraid of people and continued to swim around the boat.
“This fish looks really strange,” Andy said.
"I've never seen a fish like this before." Qiu Yingying stared at it without blinking.
At this moment, Su Chang took out her phone and took a few photos of the fish.
"When in doubt, just consult Baidu (the Chinese search engine) and let them see what kind of fish it is," Su Chang said.
"Great idea!" Everyone nodded in agreement.
So, Su Chang posted the photo on a Baidu Tieba forum and explained how she found the fish.
Before long, various "know-it-alls" (a derogatory term for people who are knowledgeable about things) replied to the forum, offering all sorts of explanations. Some said it was a type of dolphin, others said it was a juvenile whale, and still others even said it was a mermaid.
Everyone looked on with a sense of helplessness.
Suddenly, a reply from a netizen caught Su Chang's attention.
"This appears to be the extinct purple-scaled pufferfish, which is said to have purple scales all over its body and is extremely rare."
Su Chang looked at the photo carefully and, as the netizen had said, the fish's scales had a unique purple hue.
"Oh my god, if it really is a purple-scaled porpoise, then we'll be rich!" Qu Xiaoxiao said excitedly.
"Don't get too excited yet, it's not certain yet," Andy cautioned.
Just then, Jiang Lai instructed the captain to steer the boat slowly closer to the Purple-scaled Porkfish, attempting to observe it more clearly.
However, as the boat approached, the purple-scaled porpoise suddenly dived into the water and disappeared.
"Oh no, why did it run away!" Qiu Yingying shouted anxiously.
"It's alright, it should still be around here," Su Chang reassured her.
The group decided to search for traces of the Purple-scaled Porkfish in this area, hoping to find it again. Unfortunately, no matter how hard they searched, they never saw any trace of the Purple-scaled Porkfish again, so they had to give up. The women then planned to go back to their cabins for breakfast, while Su Chang said goodbye to everyone and went back to her room to rest.
It was noon when Jiang Lai knocked on Su Chang's door. She knew from the captain that Su Chang had been night fishing the night before, so she came to wake him up at this time. Otherwise, she would have woken him up when the boat docked in the morning.
Su Chang was fast asleep in her room when she was suddenly awakened by a knock on the door. Helplessly, she called out to the door, "Who is it?"
"I'm Jiang Lai, get up and eat."
"Alright, you go first, I'll wash up and come out." Su Chang had no choice but to get up. After all, they were out having fun, and they couldn't just stay in the room all the time. Besides, they had already experienced night fishing, and they didn't want to experience it again.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, the six women were already gathered around the table, which was mostly filled with seafood, seemingly Su Chang's catch from the previous night. The seat between Jiang Lai and Guan Juer was empty, so Su Chang went straight over and sat down.
"Why aren't you eating? Are you waiting for me?" Su Chang asked when he saw that no one had touched their chopsticks.
"That's right, isn't this all your spoils from last night? How could we dare to touch it if you didn't come?" Qu Xiaoxiao said sarcastically from the side. The main reason was that she couldn't be happy that they weren't invited to do something so fun.
"Haha! Night fishing is too dangerous. This isn't a fishing boat. If it were, I would have called you if you had protective gear. Besides, staying up late isn't suitable for you ladies. If you want to fish, I'll have the captain find a suitable spot to fish during the day. Let's start eating." Su Chang explained, mainly not to Qu Xiaoxiao, but because Jiang Lai and Guan Juer were clearly also a little unhappy.
As everyone began their meal, Su Chang also started signing in. Perhaps because she had signed in so many times around them, she received mostly cash and a fishing skill.
After a satisfying meal, Su Chang suggested that everyone go up to the deck for some fresh air and see if they could encounter any other ships.
Upon reaching the deck, the salty sea breeze caressed their faces, instantly making everyone feel refreshed and relaxed.
"Wow, that feels so good!" Qiu Yingying stretched.
“Indeed, it’s much better than being in the cabin,” Fan Shengmei added.
"I wish it could stay like this forever," Andy said with a look of contentment.
"Of course you can. This ship is mine, you can come anytime you want," Su Chang said casually.
"Wow! Is this yacht yours?" Qu Xiaoxiao asked in surprise.
"What's the big deal? Your family can afford it too," Su Chang said with a smile.
"Come on, even if you could afford to buy it, you couldn't afford to maintain it. Unlike you rich kids." Qu Xiaoxiao wasn't naive enough to think that you could play with it just because you could afford to buy it. The annual maintenance cost would be at least several million.
Just then, the shadow of a ship appeared on the sea not far away, attracting everyone's attention.
"Is that another cruise ship?" Qiu Yingying asked excitedly, pointing in that direction.
"It seems so. Should we go over and say hello?" Fan Shengmei suggested.
"Maybe we shouldn't. What if it's a pirate ship?" Guan Juer said with some concern.
After thinking for a moment, Su Chang said, "Let's observe for a while before making a decision."
So everyone watched the ship quietly until it slowly disappeared from sight.
Just as everyone was preparing to return to their cabins, the ship reappeared in their sights and headed towards them.
Su Chang took out his binoculars and observed the approaching ship. As it drew closer, he noticed that the flag on the ship was not the symbol of any country, but a large black flag embroidered with a mysterious symbol.
"What kind of flag is that? I've never seen it before," Qiu Yingying asked curiously.
Su Chang's expression turned serious; he realized things might not be so simple. He turned to the others and said, "Everyone, go back to your cabins."
"Captain, go full speed ahead and get away quickly!" Su Chang shouted, leading everyone back into the cabin. The yacht turned and sped away. The women anxiously watched the mysterious ship grow smaller and smaller before finally relaxing.
