however.
“My dad is a man! You can’t accuse him of molesting you! The police won’t believe you!” Sam’s thought process was clearly even more abnormal than Ian’s.
"..."
Ian was completely baffled by the other person's wild imagination.
After a long time.
“It’s not impossible, we can give it a try.” Ian gave the other party’s “suggestion” a thumbs up, realizing that he was indeed not suited to be a villain who threatens others.
"Damn it! You're so despicable!"
Sam became even more flustered upon hearing this, defeated by his own advice. "I'll go back and look into it for you! Don't involve my family!"
"They are innocent!" Sam's reaction was so strong that he stormed off, leaving Ian sitting there, feeling that the situation had completely exceeded his expectations.
"Goo~"
Ian took a sip of his cola.
He finally understood why Sam couldn't win over the girl he liked.
"We're all family, why are we fighting like this... Such a strong reaction, this guy must be a fellow patient too." Ian, shaking his Coke cup, took another bite of tomato pork tenderloin.
He let out a heartfelt sigh.
He forked the untouched chicken leg from Sam's abandoned plate onto his own plate.
Food is innocent.
……
The afternoon classes were as dull as ever. The teacher was lecturing non-stop, while Ian lay on the table with his head tilted to one side, touching the pendant Madison had given him and staring at Madison all the while.
"What are you doing?"
Feeling a little uncomfortable being stared at, Madison covered Ian's eyes with his textbook.
"You don't actually want to date me, do you?" Madison asked suspiciously. She thought Ian was acting really strange today, weirder than ever before.
"You earn millions every year, have a 36D bust, are sincere and persistent towards me, and you couldn't even buy me a Lamborghini, so why would you think I want to date you?" Ian's tone was very confused. He had indeed been furious after his leveling up and cultivation was interrupted, but now that he had eaten and drunk his fill, his emotions were stable enough.
only.
"?????"
Madison was still stunned by what she heard. Seeing that Ian didn't seem to be joking, she remained silent for a moment, then gave him a genuine thumbs-up with a strange expression.
It turns out that once men become shameless, women really have nothing to do with them.
"Can we be normal for once? What are you staring at me for?" Madison sighed helplessly, feeling like a greenhorn in front of Ian.
"I was just thinking, could you be an awakening superhero, and I am just an ordinary NPC in your origin story who was forced to suffer heavy losses."
Ian stared at his personal panel with a sigh.
Indeed, encountering the dissolute Lucifer as soon as you step out the door, and then buying a mysterious pendant from a street stall on your way back—these scenarios don't seem like things a normal person would encounter.
“Green Wave Girl, no, Miracle Healer… Damn it, I clearly have a talent for writing!” Ian wanted to give Madison a nickname, but found that he couldn’t think of a good name.
Touching someone can cure all ailments—should we call them "touch-touch girls"? "Self-touching girls"? For almost the entire class, Ian felt exhausted that his talents hadn't been truly recognized. Faced with Ian's harassment, Madison remained silent for the entire morning, while Ian spent the same morning trying to understand Madison's situation.
“First of all, I don’t have superpowers. Secondly, my dream is to become a star in Hollywood, not to fly around in the sky in a tight suit—in your fantasy stories, I can fly like Superman, right?” Madison refuted Ian’s guess while displaying his inexplicable competitive spirit.
"Being a star and being a superhero don't conflict. What a coincidence, my dream is to be a big capitalist and start a company where I can command superheroes to fight crime and make money for me."
"Come work for my company, you can be a star and a hero... a win-win-win situation for both of us." Ian was just joking; he was actually just brainstorming whether to create a comic book version of *The Boys*. Since returning from that nightmarish world, Ian had been considering how to revitalize the [dormant professions] brought about by Homelander.
"Start a company that uses superheroes?" Madison really couldn't imagine what a niche dream that was, but she had to admit that it really had the mindset of a capitalist.
"Also, why is it a win-win-win situation?"
Madison's curiosity was also piqued.
“Of course it’s because you win once and I win twice, which makes it a triple win.” Ian’s answer was impeccable, and his righteous indignation silenced Madison once again.
"Oh, by the way, how about calling yourself Wonder Woman?" Ian started poking around again, trying to come up with a name for Madison, only to receive a quiet reply from Madison.
"You're plagiarizing so blatantly, did you even ask Wonder Woman for her permission?" It can only be said that Madison might have been caught in the trap, actually starting to consider the issue of copyright infringement.
"Is it that we can't ask?"
"Hilarious! If you knew Wonder Woman, then I'd be friends with Superman for sex!"
"Um, that's really not allowed."
The two whispered to each other.
A heated discussion ensued.
Because the sound was relatively quiet and did not affect other students, the teacher, as always, pretended not to see it, just as the bell was about to ring for the end of get out of class.
"Ding~"
The bell had just rung.
It suddenly stopped.
Ian noticed that everything around him seemed to freeze again, just like last night, including his classmates. The world in front of him began to fade wildly as if it had been splashed with makeup remover.
In this regard.
Ian wasn't surprised; in fact, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. The Metropolitan Gambler had struck again, allowing him to confirm yet another fact from the strange events of last night.
If he is not in a hurry.
There are always people in a hurry.
[P.S.: Please keep reading, everyone! This new book really needs readers to follow along. I don't have any monthly tickets or recommendation votes; my stats are terrible. I'll do anything to get votes.]

Chapter 32 Yay! Cursed again!
Chalk dust hung suspended in mid-air in the classroom. Outside the window, the shadow of a bird was pinned to the curtains, and even the sunlight seemed to freeze. This was some kind of power of Tessa, the Grim Reaper.
However, Ian only smelled the pleasant fragrance.
But they didn't see anyone.
"Hide and seek? I don't like playing that."
Just as Ian was looking around...
"It's been almost a day, and I don't get the feeling that you're in a hurry at all?" Death Goddess Tessa frowned and walked through the teacher's body from behind the teacher who was frozen on the podium.
She seemed to have changed her clothes today; still all black, but now she wore a shiny leather jacket and pants. Ian really wanted to know if Death, that creature, actually farted.
"Ok?"
Tessa sensed Ian's strange gaze.
"Who said I didn't do anything? I've prepared a brilliant plan, do you know what it is?" Ian cautiously probed the Grim Reaper.
"Ok?"
Tessa, the female Grim Reaper, frowned.
"Do you think I'm watching you every second? Don't be so narcissistic, little guy." Her tone was unfriendly, but Ian's smile immediately brightened.
“You’re right, I think so too.” Ian’s smile was very sunny, he was a truly cheerful and outgoing young man, but the female grim reaper’s brows furrowed more and more deeply upon seeing this.
"I really didn't expect that attending class would be more important than your father's life. How should I put it, you're a very competent student?" Death Goddess Tessa's tone was clearly somewhat speechless.
She glanced around. The physics teacher's mouth was still forming the words "Fl = Fl," the poor teacher, completely unaware that something violating physics was happening.
"It's part of the plan."
Ian blinked.
"what's the plan?"
The female Grim Reaper narrowed her eyes. As if she had also learned to teleport from those evil spirits, she appeared in front of Ian in a flash, but without bringing even the slightest breeze.
"I can't tell you, but this is also part of the plan. Believe me, I really do have a plan—if I tell you, my plan might not work." Ian made a reference to the Three-Body Problem, but unfortunately, everyone present, whether they could move or not, probably couldn't understand his humor and lame joke.
"If you still want to save your father, you'd better hurry." The female death goddess Tessa didn't press further, but instead gave Ian a demonstration of what a proper threat looked like.
however.
“Perhaps you could offer me some help? You know… I’m just an ordinary person.” Ian wasn’t trying to gain sympathy; he was well aware of his own limitations.
Upon hearing this, Tessa, the Grim Reaper, frowned again.
"What does this have to do with me? Do you think I care?" She showed a slightly displeased expression, crossed her arms, and looked like a delinquent girl who was not to be approached.
“If it really doesn’t matter,” Ian tapped his fingertips lightly on the table, his tone certain, stating what he had guessed, “you probably wouldn’t be here.”
Discovering this secret doesn't actually require very profound insight.
"..."
Tessa, the Grim Reaper, fell silent, and the temperature in the classroom plummeted. It was unclear whether this was due to her mood. And just as the atmosphere reached its peak of tension...
“What a cunning brat, you win.” Death Tessa shook her head a few times as if she had a headache. Her compromise made Ian more and more convinced that he might really be the God of Gamblers in Metropolis.
The boy was secretly giving himself a thumbs up.
"Why don't you start the investigation from yesterday's plane crash? Your father hasn't made a mistake in a long time, has he?" Death Tessa had already given a hint.
“We should go to Metropolitan General Hospital, right?” Ian quickly replied, which was similar to his previous line of thinking. Perhaps he also had the potential to become a famous detective in the Metropolitan City.
"Ah."
Tessa raised her eyebrows almost imperceptibly.
"It seems you have indeed done some investigation and research."
Her tone softened considerably, further proving that she wasn't constantly monitoring Ian's progress. Of course, he was the Grim Reaper; he must have plenty of business to attend to.
“I told you I have a plan,” Ian emphasized again, and just as he was about to ask for more clues, he suddenly saw Death raise his long, slender fingers.
"Let me save you some time in implementing your plan." With that, the woman with the beautiful, pale skin snapped her fingers, and the black-and-white world was peeled away like a torn canvas.
Ian felt a wave of dizziness, and when his vision cleared, the smell of disinfectant filled his nostrils. Under the stark white light, the large sign for "Metropolitan General Hospital" hung in front of them, and the rain-soaked puddles reflected their figures—the world had somehow regained its color.
