There might be some relativistic merit to this. If evil spirits can devour him, then he can certainly devour evil spirits; the system's feedback proves he's on the right track.
[Spirit: 2.9-3.1]
Ian's attributes are increasing.
This clearly indicates that the energy belonging to evil spirits is flowing towards him. Perhaps the [Spirit] attribute is also related to the strength of the soul; Ian hasn't fully understood the influence of the four-dimensional attributes either.
Just like he couldn't understand why, even though he had come up with such a brilliant counterattack strategy, his [Intelligence] attribute still hadn't increased. Perhaps this attribute really didn't have much to do with wisdom?
"Smack, smack~"
Normally, Ian doesn't make any noise while eating, but he's currently wolfing down his food, so he's naturally not paying attention to table manners.
He figured the evil spirit of the nun probably wouldn't mind.
Negative Status: Corruption of the Soul
Devouring evil spirits is not without its price; a negative status effect slowly appeared above Ian's [Rage] bar. However, this is the least of the concerns for a [Berserker].
Anyway, it's already been upgraded.
Ian thought, "I'll just learn a new skill later. Maybe this negative state will actually be good for my health." Not only did he not stop, but after getting used to the taste, he even sped up his eating.
"Do not!!!"
The evil spirit struggled frantically, but Ian held it firmly down. It had truly never encountered anything like this before—it had always been the one devouring humans, and now the tables had turned?
This isn't magic at all!
It doesn't conform to the rules of the universe!
……
Meanwhile, the real world.
Constantine climbed out of the rubble.
"Why did you bring a child here!" he roared at his companion as he rushed toward Ian, who was in a dazed state.
"Damn Constantine! You only said you were going to die, not that you were going to be killed by an evil spirit! I thought you were conducting some kind of insane and dangerous experiment again!"
Charles, who followed closely behind, was also filled with regret and remorse.
"Quickly, bring me some holy water!"
Constantine knew this wasn't the time to shift the blame, so he abruptly ripped open the "dull" boy's clothes, revealing that the boy's skin was visibly turning ashen.
Black vein patterns began to appear on his chest.
That's a sign that the body is being poisoned by the "power" carried by evil spirits.
“Charles! Get ready to hold him down! I’m about to begin the exorcism!” Constantine took the water bottle from his companion and tried to tear off the antique pendant Ian was wearing.
"Sigh~"
however.
The moment Constantine's hand touched the pendant, it felt like he had grasped a scorching hot iron, causing him to gasp in pain. His hand, which he pulled back, bore burn marks.
"What the hell is this!"
He was filled with doubt and uncertainty, but he couldn't immediately tell what the pendant Ian was wearing was. Moreover, he needed to race against time and didn't have time to study and distinguish it carefully.
"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus!"
“omnis satanica potestas!”
"omnis incursio infernalis adversarii!"
……
Constantine poured holy water over Ian while chanting Latin exorcism incantations, his expression serious and his tone dramatic and earnest.
however.
Although Ian's body did begin to emit wisps of white smoke after coming into contact with the holy water, the evil spirit did not appear. So Constantine began to increase the volume and output.
"This guy's expression..."
He gradually broke out in a sweat, filled with astonishment and uncertainty. He actually saw the corners of Ian's mouth slowly turning upwards! A child laughing? Constantine was more inclined to believe it was the devil's mockery!
after all.
At this very moment, the evil spirit should be devouring the boy's soul, and his body should be being possessed by the evil spirit, so all the expressions the boy makes can only be related to the demon!
"Humiliare sub potenti manu Dei,"
“ontremisce et effuge,”
"Ab insidiis diaboli, libera nos, Domine!"
Constantine felt uneasy and terrified. He quickly changed his exorcism method, attempting to use the power of Heaven to exorcise the demon. He was adept at various magical styles and quite proficient in them. However, for some reason, his latest exorcism spell still failed to achieve the desired effect.
Despite the divine light emanating from Ian and countless plumes of black smoke rising from his body, the evil spirit remained unexposed, its tenacity far exceeding Constantine's expectations.
This is definitely not normal.
This was a rare occurrence in Constantine's exorcism career. It's important to understand that as a master of magic among humans, despite his lack of religious faith, no one could deny his profound skill in magic. His exorcism magic, in particular, had reached a level that combined the strengths of many schools, far surpassing the skill of most priests and related practitioners.
"No! How could it withstand it for so long! How could a lowly minion from hell be so powerful!" Constantine felt a chill run down his spine, and his mind couldn't help but wander into wild thoughts.
What terrifying demon could withstand my exorcism!
Is this yet another conspiracy specifically targeting me? Is a super evil secretly plotting to use the boy's soul to push my already irredeemable soul even closer to corruption?
A sense of fear and unease settled over Constantine.
And at this time.
"Ah ah ah ah ah!!!!"
Painful screams echoed throughout the room.
That was the voice of an evil spirit.
"I will be back! I will get my revenge!"
The evil spirit finally emerged from Ian's body, but it didn't seem to have been dragged out by an exorcism spell. Instead, it seemed to be fleeing in a panic and a disheveled manner.
It even endured the holy water constantly being splashed by Constantine, its body steaming and throbbing with pain, determined to emerge. Its posture was exactly like that of a terrified young girl being violated, desperately trying to break free.

Chapter 16 My stats! Above yours!
Accompanied by the emergence of evil spirits.
Ian's body also collapsed to the ground, swaying precariously. His entire body was pitch black, clearly indicating severe poisoning, with spiderweb-like blackish-purple patterns crawling across his skin.
Even its mouth was blowing bubbles.
Being directly possessed and corrupted by evil spirits can indeed cause significant harm to humans.
It would be very difficult for a normal person to survive.
"Quick! Constantine!" Charles shouted as soon as he saw the evil spirit appear, rushing towards Ian. He had intended to catch the young boy who was falling to the ground.
however.
Those who were with Constantine were more or less unreliable, and Charles ended up with nothing at all, not even catching the wave that Ian's fall caused.
"..."
Charles stood there awkwardly, his hands raised as if holding onto nothing.
And this time.
"Don't tell me what to do!"
Constantine, who was initially a bit confused, reacted quickly.
Even though he didn't understand why the evil spirit was reacting abnormally, he still immediately picked up the container he had just carved—a thermos that looked somewhat deformed.
Constantine had already used the time to inscribe a six-pointed star and inscriptions on it. The evil spirit let out a deafening shriek, but an invisible force pulled it toward the seemingly ordinary container.
"This is where you belong, you demon!"
Constantine continued chanting the sealing incantation, finally capturing the fleeing evil spirit directly into the container. The black mist was forcibly compressed and ultimately sucked into the thermos.
"Charles! Your teacup has done a great job!" Constantine immediately slammed the transparent lid on and quickly twisted it to completely seal the stainless steel thermos.
The six-pointed star pattern glowed with a blood-red light. Strangely, the thermos didn't vibrate violently, as if the evil spirit inside had given up struggling.
"solved!"
While Constantine was puzzled, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Looks like it's going to be another day with close calls but no real danger," Charles said, wiping the sweat from his brow.
"A close call? Hahaha, this isn't over yet! That damn crazy boy, his body is completely decaying! He can't possibly survive!"
"Constantine, you will bear this sin as well!" The evil spirit's voice could still be heard. However, no matter how you listened, there was a hint of relief at surviving a catastrophe in its venomous voice.
"I will wait for you! I will wait for him in hell!!"
of course.
There was also a simmering annoyance and rage towards Ian. To be honest, if it weren't for Constantine's exorcism spell, it probably would have become the first demon to be devoured by a mad human.
Even now, thinking back on that evil spirit still makes me a little scared.
"What crazy boy?" Constantine glanced at the boy, whose body had turned black and who was lying on the ground, his brows furrowed, his heart filled with anxiety. He knew that the boy's condition was indeed bad.
“You must save this innocent man, or I will make you pay with your life.” Constantine began threatening the evil spirit in the bottle to save the boy’s life.
however.
The evil spirits remained unmoved.
"Demon! If you don't save him, I'll make you wish you were dead! Believe me! You'll never be able to go back to hell!" Constantine wasn't particularly concerned about strangers.
Rather, he cares about his own soul.
"Ah."
The evil spirits merely mocked them.
