Chapter 44 Secret Gathering
Chapter 44 Secret Gathering
1346 7 Month 15 Day.
The summer "hunting" banquet ended a week ago.
Since returning to the manor after the banquet, Altair has been using special channels to attend banquets of conservative "old nobles" to gather information. After each banquet, he would only send some unimportant information to "George III".
Freya and the other two also learned about the advantages and disadvantages of the 22 approaches through Altair's introduction.
Vera's chosen path was alright, the "monster" path. The reason was simple: it brought enough luck.
However, the paths Freya and Irene chose left Altair helpless, as both wanted to become assassins.
Even after he explained that choosing this particular route was unusual, neither of them was willing to change.
The reason is simply that the 'assassin' path is indeed a bit too comprehensive.
Left with no other choice, Altair could only begin teaching the three of them some basic knowledge. As for the 'Black Panther,' she was also forcibly brought along to attend the lessons, and she would be given the potion in a month.
After they were ready, Altair went into the vault to find the materials he needed.
After finding enough materials, Altair led the three into the 'laboratory' to begin preparing the potion.
The potion recipe for the 'Monster' pathway was something he found in the 'Library'.
Luckily, I had nothing better to do at the time, otherwise I really wouldn't have found the recipe for this method.
After all, I have naturally dark skin, so I don't have much interest in this approach.
If Vera hadn't chosen this path, the recipe would likely have remained gathering dust in a corner of the library. I never imagined I'd ever use it.
As Altair prepared the potion, he casually remarked:
"Sequence 9: Monster Main Materials: Colorful Carp Tail, One Silver Four-Leaf Clover."
"Supporting materials: 100 ml of turbid river water, 3 common four-leaf clovers, 10 drops of ground cherries hydrosol, and one lucky charm."
Once all the ingredients are added, this "monster" potion becomes a filthy mess that's hard to describe.
Looking at the half-finished potion before her, Vera asked with a mixture of disdain, trepidation, and curiosity, "Count Altair, is this potion ready?"
Altair looked at her, grinned mischievously, and said, "Vera, put your hand out."
Vera simply extended her hand without even asking Altair what he wanted.
Looking at the fair little hand in front of him, Altair directly pricked her index finger with a silver needle, then pulled the pricked finger and squeezed out 9 drops of blood from the potion, dripping them all into the semi-finished potion.
Upon contact with the blood, the potion in the cup underwent a dramatic transformation, turning from an indescribable liquid into a transparent liquid that seemed to contain iridescent rainbows.
Seeing that the potion looked exactly like the one described in the book, Altair was relieved and turned to look at Vera.
She was blowing on her pricked index finger, looking pitiful. Altair patted her downcast head and said, "Your potion is ready. You can take it now."
"Remember what I said. After taking the potion, begin meditating as soon as possible to control your spirituality and power."
Vera looked up at Altair, nodded, and conveyed with her eyes that she understood and that he could rest assured.
He walked to the table, picked up the potion, drank it all in one gulp, put down the cup, and began to close his eyes and meditate.
Altair was relieved to see that Vera's spirituality gradually calmed down after taking the potion, which had initially been violent.
The preparation of the "Assassin's Potion" was very simple. Altair had seen Vivian make it before, and with the recipe, it was easy to complete the preparation.
After handing the two potions to Freya and Irene, he instructed them in the same way to meditate and control their spirituality after taking the potions.
After the two calmed down, Altair found a place to sit down and waited for the three of them to finish their meditation.
Because Vera had taken the potion first, she broke out of her meditative state shortly after sitting down in Altair.
After waking up, she looked around and saw that her sister and Freya were still meditating, so she didn't do anything outrageous. She simply walked over to Altair and began to wait silently.
After Freya and Irene exited their meditative state, Altair began to explain the "role-playing method".
Because he himself was an assassin, he directly taught Freya and Irene his methods, letting them "play" according to these methods.
He didn't have much of a clue about the "monster" role-playing method, so he could only give her the origami crane that the little snake had given him for the time being and let her figure it out on her own.
Since the three took the potion, Altair has had an additional task every day: teaching them occult knowledge. Their daily routine has become: wake up, eat, manage the business, have lunch, teach them occult knowledge, have dinner, and go to sleep.
Every few days, he would attend a banquet to report to King George III. Of course, Vivian would also come and stay for a few days when she had nothing else to do.
This intensity of life reminded Altair of the time when he was taking all sorts of "aristocratic" classes.
Fortunately, the three of them learned quickly enough that when there was nothing left to teach them, Altair directly arranged for them to have a combat training instructor.
Let his former combat instructor, Anastasia, train the three of them.
Since the end of June, Anastasia has refused to teach Altair, citing that she has nothing to teach him.
When Altair wrote to her this time, inviting her to come and teach, she initially refused. Only after it was explained that she was a new student did she agree to come.
........
1346 7 Month 20 Day.
During this period, whenever Altair had free time, he would secretly attend 'secret gatherings' of all sizes. He even encountered someone selling the extraordinary characteristics of Sequence 7.
However, Altair didn't have much money on him at the time, so he didn't make any purchases. As for Sequence 7 and above, he didn't know.
After all, most of Backlund's extraordinary gatherings are organized by various groups and cannot be purchased at the meetings of the True God Church. You can try other gatherings instead.
For example, we are now going to attend a secret party organized by Mr. A.
According to Hahn, this secretive trading community frequently features items with Sequence 7 Extraordinary Attributes, and a small portion of the family's treasure vault is acquired through these acquisitions. Bulk purchases can receive discounted prices, and the quality is guaranteed.
After knocking on the wooden door three times long and two times short, the main door slowly opened with a creak.
After Altair entered, the gatekeeper casually closed the gate.
Upon entering, one sees a number of people sitting haphazardly. Some are concealing their faces in various ways, while others are not afraid of revealing their appearance.
After glancing at it briefly, Altair looked at the blackboard used for trading.
"A pair of adult Manhar fish eyes, 200 pounds."
"Sequence 8 'Sheriff' potion recipe, 450 pounds."
"Roselle the Great's Notebooks, three pages, £20."
........
Some have been crossed out, while others have markings saying things like "Please keep the materials for the next transaction."
Altair was also quite disappointed with the gathering, and none of the items traded were things he needed.
Both the materials and the extraordinary items are too low-level, so buying them is pointless.
