Because Darren was the first person in history to receive the Eleventh Class of the Order of Merlin at that age, his portrait is in the Ministry of Magic's collection.
He died, and the portrait would have come to life, but clearly, the portrait showed no reaction, so he might still be alive.
I just don't know where he fell to after passing through that curtain.
Hermione's words only won Ron's agreement.
He wanted to tell Harry the news.
But Luna, Ginny, and even Neville disagreed.
"He should be punished; he was too reckless... Besides, Darren hasn't come back yet... It's been a week."
The holidays are almost here... Even if I told him that Darren wasn't dead, he probably wouldn't believe me.
Actually, I'm a little skeptical myself... I feel like Dumbledore is just trying to comfort me.
He knew that if he told me Darren was dead, I would want to jump into the veil with him.
Ginny said in a vague and ethereal way.
Ron wanted to say something, but in the end he said nothing. He pretended not to have heard the sentence.
“If Darren doesn’t come back soon, his classmates will start to get suspicious.”
Many of them assumed that Darren should be like us, staying in the school infirmary or St. Mungo's...
Yesterday, Mrs. Pomfrey asked me if Darren was in St. Mungo.
I said I didn't know... I saw her crying, she was worried..."
The ward was completely silent.
Harry sat by the lake, his glass filled with juice.
He held a book and, imitating Darren, looked at its contents. Then, he would occasionally look up at the opposite shore of the lake.
He remembered that when he was in third grade, Darren cast a Patronus Charm there, and the Azure Dragon drove away hundreds of Dementors.
He didn't know if he wanted to talk about Darren. It probably depended on his mood.
But sometimes he thinks about it.
He just wanted to think about Darren silently, rather than listen to what they were saying that made him let go.
How do I let go?
He and Darren are twins!
Just like Fred and George, they are inseparable.
Darren was gone; he felt as if all his energy and spirit had vanished. Even the thought of defeating Voldemort had disappeared.
He even thought, in frustration, that Voldemort should kill him so that he could reunite with Darren.
They became ghosts… Harry suddenly froze.
An idea he had never considered before popped into his mind. He leaped up from the lawn.
Then he rushed towards the Gryffindor Tower. He was looking for Nick.
"Good evening, Harry..."
"I have some questions for you!"
Harry's face was filled with hope.
Nick couldn't bring himself to refuse him.
Okay, okay.
"Nick, you died, but you can come back, right?"
I can still talk to you, you can still stand here... I want to ask, can everyone come back?
"Only wizards can..."
"Nick said softly. Harry was pleasantly surprised."
He remembered Darren's sacrifices for him, how Darren was always afraid of leaving him alone, and how Darren wanted to stay at school.
He will definitely come back.
He would greet him happily and tell him, "Brother, I'm back! I'm back alive!"
Darren will definitely come back, no matter how small the chance.
“He won’t come back… Few people take this path… Most people will continue on, only those who are afraid of death will return… Of course, perhaps the Department of Mysteries knows more about these things…”
Harry stood there, frozen in place.
He thought of what Nick had said.
Only those who fear death stay. Is Darren afraid of death? No, he isn't. He's willing to die protecting him.
For him, those desires had been fulfilled. Nick was gone.
Harry was left standing there, stunned.
Until Malfoy's voice came.
"Scarhead, Professor Snape wants to see you!"
Snape is looking for me?
Harry came back to his senses.
Why did Snape seek him out?
He didn't really want to hear Snape's voice.
But he also understood that the misunderstanding between him and Snape was just an act put on by Snape and Darren.
Snape and Darren didn't argue. Snape was still one of their men.
"You are dead!"
Malfoy suddenly said viciously.
"You made my dad get severely punished!"
"Isn't that to be expected? Why didn't he kill you?"
Harry sneered.
Malfoy is a Death Eater. They deserve to be punished! Malfoy raised his wand.
"Potter!"
Snape's voice came from the other end of the corridor. Malfoy immediately put away his wand.
Snape glanced at them, then gave Harry a cold look and said, "We're leaving soon. Go pack Darren's things!" Harry turned around in disbelief.
His pain was almost bursting forth.
Darren had barely left when Snape ordered him to pack up Darren's things! They wanted to get rid of every last trace of Darren from the school.
"I won't allow it, I won't let him..."
"That's enough, Potter. I don't have time to play house with you."
Now, right now, come with me to his dorm, pack your things, attend the banquet tonight, and then get out of school!
If you don't want to, I'll have my house-elves clean it up. If anything's missing, you'll be responsible for the consequences!
Snape said viciously.
His eyes were filled with anger and resentment...

Chapter 614 He will be back!!
Harry stood painfully in Darren's dormitory.
Everything here is arranged neatly.
He was able to easily pack up all of Darren's things.
It won't take long at all... because Darren only has a few clothes, and then his textbooks...
And the books he borrowed from the library but hadn't had time to return. All alone, just like Darren himself.
Harry was almost in tears as he packed up.
He thought about how Darren was terrified when he fell and couldn't even see.
Finally, he couldn't hold back anymore, and he knelt on the ground, bursting into tears. Snape stood beside him without saying a word.
Much later, Snape said coldly, "Potter, you don't expect me to listen to your crying here, do you?"
Harry turned around and glared at him fiercely.
“Where did you go that day? If you were here, if you were in the office, he wouldn’t… he wouldn’t…”
"Potter, don't blame everything on others. I've heard your dog godfather say that these past few days."
