["Bang." The bald man's head exploded into pieces.]
"Ten rings are nothing, I have a ton of them at home." Zhuge Cong, seeing the Ten Rings Gang nearly wiped out, flew back to his own L district.
"Here it comes. I thought Zhugestan would be the first boss, but I didn't expect it to be the Mandarin, the mastermind behind the Ten Rings."
Doma Umaru looked at the bald man's words on the screen and said, "At first, I thought it would be Zhuge Stan, the second-in-command of the Zhuge Group. As for the Ten Commandments Gang, Doma Umaru thought it was just an ordinary terrorist group that couldn't defeat Zhuge Cong."
But now a turning point has arrived: behind the Ten Rings is a mastermind with magical powers.
22: Hachiman: Wait a minute about the kids, I have to work overtime.
Doma Umaru felt that the future development of the story shown on the screen was more interesting than many of the current mass-produced anime series.
She is not alone in feeling this way.
"Does it possess ten rings with magical powers?"
As Gokou Ruri watched the unfolding events on the light screen, she hoped she could see her own future reflected there, whether it be as a mutant or some kind of magic; she loved the supernatural.
Isn't chuunibyou just a liking for supernatural things? The ten magical rings were far more attractive to her than the Iron Man armor.
"Hmph, I will definitely awaken the Evil King's True Eye in the future, and ten rings will be nothing to me."
"As expected of a master, I, the Thunder Hammer Warrior, will not lag behind death."
Sanae Dekomori looked at Rikka Takanashi and said that the appearance of the light screen was like a blessing for these chuunibyou sufferers.
Meanwhile, within the military headquarters of District L, Zhuge Cong's sudden appearance threw the organization into chaos. Numerous phone calls inquired about the nature of this unexpected entity, while the radar failed to detect its small size.
"Bring me Lieutenant Colonel Hachiman Hikigaya, who's in charge of weapons development," another high-ranking officer said to a soldier beside him. If anything strange happened and you didn't know where it came from, just call on Hachiman Hikigaya.
"Alright, Yukino, I know. We'll get a call from the military soon." Hachiman Hikigaya, on leave at home, was talking to Yukino Yukinoshita, seemingly about their children.
"This is Lieutenant Colonel Hikigaya. What can I do for you?" Hachiman Hikigaya asked as he answered the phone.
"Lieutenant Colonel Hachiman, please proceed to the Air Force headquarters immediately. We have discovered an unidentified unit. Please provide details," the communications officer on the other end of the phone said.
"Okay, I'm coming right now," Hachiman Hikigaya said to Yukino Yukinoshita after hanging up the phone.
"We'll talk about the child later. There's an emergency at the military headquarters, and I need to go there immediately," Hachiman Hikigaya said, quickly returning to his room to change into his military uniform.
"Sigh." Yukino Yukinoshita simply shook her head slightly. After all, she couldn't just keep Hachiman Hikigaya hanging around and say some weird things, like, "You're not going to give me an explanation today," or "Am I more important than my work?"
"Come back soon," Yukino Yukinoshita said casually to Hachiman Hikigaya.
"Okay, I'll be right back after I'm done. I'm off." Having changed into his military uniform, Hachiman Hikigaya gently tapped Yukino Yukinoshita's forehead before immediately leaving to catch a car and head to the Air Force headquarters.
"From now on, Hachiman, you go that way, I'll go this way, don't let me see you, you 'normie'."
"You keep saying 'Stop living the high life, the high life is exploding,' but you're the one who's living the high life. You became a lieutenant colonel and even married our famous beauty from Soubu High School, the Snow Queen Yukino Yukinoshita. You deserve to die."
Kazuma Sato looked at Hachiman Hikigaya with a pained expression, never expecting that seeing a light screen could break his defenses so many times.
"You beast, you beast."
Kazuma Sato ran back to his seat, feeling quite devastated.
[At this moment, Zhuge Cong was enjoying the thrill of slaying his enemy, soaring freely through the air, unaware that he was causing chaos within the Air Force headquarters.]
[After arriving, Hachiman Hikigaya asked many questions, and after failing to get an answer, he knew what to do.]
"I'm going to make a phone call," Hachiman Hikigaya said to the officer who had summoned him, then took out his phone and walked aside to dial Zhuge Cong's number.
"Sir, it's Mr. Hachiman Hikigaya calling."
"Connect me, hey Hachiman, aren't you on vacation right now? What, want to have a drink?" Zhuge Cong said to Hachiman Hikigaya on the other end of the phone after answering the call.
"Forget about drinking, I'm working overtime right now. Something really strange happened, you know, there's a lot of noise on your end." Hachiman Hikigaya said, noticing a familiar, high-speed-sounding noise coming from the other end of the phone.
"You know I joined the End Band in high school, and I'm rehearsing right now. You know I love music."
"Really? That sound doesn't seem like a musical instrument."
"This is a new musical instrument I invented. You know, I closed the weapons department, so I had to develop something else, right? I think musical instruments are pretty good."
"Okay, so did you know that there have been many explosions near the place where you were kidnapped? Isn't that amazing?"
"I feel like that's what those people deserved."
"Alright, we've successfully detected that unknown object with radar. It'll be blown up by the new fighter jets soon." Just as Hachiman Hikigaya finished speaking, two imposing-looking fighter jets appeared behind Zhuge Cong.
"Let's take this opportunity to test which is stronger, my Mark 2 or the Whip 5 fighter jet." Zhuge Cong was also in high spirits and didn't immediately tell Hachiman Hikigaya that the thing was him. Of course, Hachiman Hikigaya wouldn't have suspected that Zhuge Cong would put him on board; at most, he would have thought it was some new drone developed by Zhuge Cong. Otherwise, he wouldn't have allowed Zhuge Cong and the Whip 5 fighter jet to have a showdown.
"Oh, the Whip Armor has reached its fifth generation? I wonder if Zhuge Cong's Iron Armor is more powerful or the strongest air force fighter, the Whip Fighter."
Military enthusiasts were excited to see the steel armor that was about to be paired with the fifth-generation fighter jet.
[Zhuge Cong twisted to dodge the attack range of the Whip 5 armor while accelerating, quickly increasing the distance between himself and the Whip fighter jet, and for a moment even managed to leave it some distance behind.]
"This is Whip One; the target has been located."
"Has Whip One spotted the target?" Hachiman Hikigaya asked the pilot of Whip One.
"Um, I can't see clearly, it looks like a red and yellow striped iron block." The driver could only make out a small part of the color.
"Let's see if we can get in touch."
"No response, sir."
"Then you can fire," Hachiman Hikigaya said. After all, in Hachiman Hikigaya's eyes, it was just a little gadget made by Zhuge Cong. Destroying it would teach Zhuge Cong a lesson for not making these kinds of things all the time. The main thing was that it disturbed his vacation. Did he have it easy to get a vacation? He finally got a break, and now he had to come back to work overtime.
"The enemy has suddenly entered supersonic speed; I've locked onto the target." Upon seeing the lock, the pilot launched an Iron Whip missile towards Zhuge Cong.
23: Hachiman: I'm really impressed by you.
"Sir, a missile is approaching, 500 meters away." Jarvis's real-time detection can effectively help Zhuge Cong deal with attacks from blind spots.
Upon hearing Jarvis's words, Zhuge Cong immediately released numerous flares to intercept the incoming missiles. However, Zhuge Cong slightly underestimated the explosive power of the Iron Whip missiles.
The massive impact of the flare detonating the Iron Whip missile caused it to fly uncontrollably forward, and its flight also encountered a slight problem.
"Wow, that was exciting!" Zhuge Cong exclaimed excitedly as he was sent flying out of the explosion, feeling a surge of thrill as he was trapped in the valley and then soared out of the blast.
"Sir, your vital signs are very high. You need to reconsider your actions under these circumstances," Jarvis warned, noticing that Zhuge Cong's heart rate, blood flow, and other vital signs were all rising, indicating he was in a state of heightened arousal.
"I know, I know," Zhuge Cong said as he readjusted his flight balance.
The two Whipfighters behind them, finding it difficult to aim and launch missiles due to Zhuge Cong's swaying flight, simply resorted to using their machine guns.
"Shit." Zhuge Cong, who had been accidentally shot a few times, looked at the damage report on his armor and felt a pang of heartache.
The machine guns of the new fifth-generation whip fighter jet are still powerful enough to inflict some damage on Zhuge Cong. After taking a few shots, Zhuge Cong calmed down. Who knows what would happen if they continued playing like this?
"Spread your flaps, Jarvis, we're getting out of here!" The moment Zhuge Cong opened his shoulder flaps, he flew backward, weaving between the two fighter jets.
"Sir, we've lost track of it. That thing is definitely not a drone," one of the pilots reported to headquarters.
"Understood," the operator said, turning to the commander behind her.
"Sir, the radar can't detect it, and the satellites can't track it either."
"Whatever it was, it's dead. The unidentified object has been disposed of."
"Return to base," the officer ordered, knowing that both the aircraft and the pilots were extremely valuable.
At this moment, Zhuge Cong flew at top speed through the clouds towards Area L.
"That's great, luckily I equipped myself with counter-surveillance scanning equipment beforehand." This newly developed equipment also allowed Zhuge Cong to escape pursuit and return home safely.
"Sir, it's Mr. Hikigaya Hachiman on the phone." Zhuge Cong had just returned home and taken off his armor when Hikigaya Hachiman called.
"Hey, Hachiman, what's up?" Zhuge Cong said as he answered the phone.
"You sound like you've just done some strenuous exercise."
"I just got back from a band performance, is there anything I can help you with?"
"I know you didn't go to the band performance, I'm here to talk to you about serious matters. You can't keep acting like this, buddy. You can't fly your civilian flight gear into my jurisdiction."
"You mean it's okay if it's not yours?"
"No...no, you can't just do whatever you want like this! I finally got a vacation, and your wonderful little invention ruined it all. Seriously, please stop!" Hachiman Hikigaya said, on the verge of tears. Zhuge Cong's temper sometimes really drove him crazy.
"Alright, alright, Lieutenant Colonel Hikigaya, I understand." Zhuge Cong listened to Hikigaya Hachiman's anguish, feeling as if he were watching someone else be 37 minutes late for the college entrance exam and still get into the exam hall.
"Lieutenant Colonel Hikigaya, have you found anything?" the air force commander asked, looking at Hachiman Hikigaya.
"I suppose so. Zhuge Cong knows about it, right? It was a little invention of his, and he forgot to report it for a moment. He apologized." Hachiman Hikigaya turned around and helped Zhuge Cong out.
"Zhuge Cong, let it go then. Tell him not to fly in the airspace without prior notification next time." Zhuge Cong's name was well-known in the military, and since there were no losses, they didn't pursue the matter further.
"Okay, I'll tell him."
"Alright, you promised me, don't do this anymore. Besides, you owe me a favor; I just helped you deal with the Air Force Commander's investigation." Hachiman Hikigaya then turned to Zhuge Cong and said.
"I knew Hachiman still cared about me. Don't worry, consider this a favor I owe you. I'll treat you to a drink next time."
"I'll put it on your tab, bye." Hachiman Hikigaya said, hanging up the phone and addressing the air force commander.
"Then I'm leaving." Hachiman Hikigaya said, turning and walking away. Working overtime for even a second longer was torture.
[At midnight, within the Ten Commandments gang's territory in District Z, Zhuge Cong was eliminating mostly the leaders and lower-ranking members, but many of the Ten Commandments gang members still survived.]
A very luxurious convoy slowly drove into the Ten Rings territory, its opulent appearance starkly contrasting with the poverty and war-torn landscape.
