Chapter 151 The Bitter Cold of the Northern Kingdoms 5
Chapter 151 The Bitter Cold of the Northern Kingdoms 5
"Continuing across the Schwier Mountains would be tantamount to suicide, so let's stay here for a while."
Frillie then took out her wand, and Philon behind her followed suit.
Together, the two used magic to lift the food off the trailer, and then Kraft, carrying a pile of things, led the group toward the cabin.
"By the way, Frilian, have you heard of me?"
Kraft asked Frillie, who was walking ahead.
"No."
Frillie shook her head. She rarely paid attention to anything other than Shi Yichen, and she genuinely had never heard of Kraft's deeds, nor were they recorded in any books.
"I think so too, I've never heard of you before."
Kraft was not surprised by Frilian's answer; he had guessed that Frilian was only about a thousand years old and it was normal that she didn't know him.
"Lord Shi Yichen and Lady Frilian are members of the Hero's group. Haven't you heard of them?"
Philon said to Kraft, "The hero Simmel killed the Demon King, and everyone on the continent knows that."
"And before that?"
Kraft had heard of this story, but had never seen the real person, and he spent most of his time wandering around, so he was unaware that there was an elf among the heroes' group.
"I did nothing before that, and lived with Yichen all along."
Frilian told Claft that she missed the old days when she and Shi Yichen lived carefree together in their little home.
"I see."
Kraft also realized that Frilian was a rather homebody elf.
Before long, the group returned to the cabin. Shutark was adding firewood to the fireplace when he saw them return and quickly went up to help them unpack.
As the days passed, the blizzard in the Schwell Mountains began to subside, but they still planned to stay a while longer. The heavy snow had blocked the roads, and they wanted to wait until the snow melted a bit before continuing their journey.
…………
"It's been almost half a year. Thanks to you all, we were able to get through the long, harsh winter in the northern countries."
Kraft sat on a tree stump, holding a small knife and whittling something as he spoke.
"Here you go. Please pass this on to Philon. She is a devout and good child. Perhaps it was because she was raised by monks and lived with Shi Yichen, which influenced her. She has not forgotten her gratitude to the goddess."
When Kraft saw Frilian approaching, he casually placed the thing he had just finished carving into Frilian's hand, asking her to pass it on to Philon.
"Clavote, why do you believe in goddesses?"
Frillie looked at the wooden carving in her hand and then at Kraft with a puzzled expression. She hadn't forgotten that when Kraft introduced himself, he said "Warrior Kraft," not "monk."
"Frilian, you probably didn't believe that before either."
Kraft believed that Frilian, like him, did not believe in the existence of the goddess before meeting Shi Yichen.
"That goddess who created the world has never actually appeared in the long history of this world, except for the mythological era. But that was my previous idea. I abandoned that idea after I met Shi Yichen."
Frilian told Kraft that before meeting Shi Yichen, Frilian did not believe in the existence of goddesses in this world, but after meeting Shi Yichen, Frilian began to believe in the existence of goddesses.
Because the goddess had given her the most important person in her life, Frilian was especially grateful to the goddess for bringing Shi Yichen to her side.
"Like me, I used to think the same way. If she didn't exist, it would make me very uncomfortable, but now I believe in the existence of the goddess from the bottom of my heart."
All those who know of the great deeds and justice I have accomplished so far are no longer alive, so after I die, I ask the goddess in heaven to praise me.
"You did a great job, Claft, your life has been extraordinary."
You understand, right, Frilian? It would be too cruel if no one remembered the footprints we've left along the way. We've lived a long life together.
Kraft looked at Frilian and said that his experience was similar to Frilian's. They both started to believe in the existence of the goddess at some point. The reason he started to believe in the goddess was because of a monk friend of his. After his monk friend died, he began to believe in the goddess.
At first, he had more faith than doubt in the existence of the goddess, but after meeting Shi Yichen, he completely believed that the goddess truly existed in the world and was always watching over it.
"I just want to be with her forever."
As she spoke, Frilian looked at Shi Yichen, who was with Philon. Seeing Shi Yichen's expression, Frilian smiled gently.
"You two are indeed a perfect match."
Kraft followed Frillian's gaze and looked at Shi Yichen. After spending the past six months together, he had come to understand the feelings between Shi Yichen and Frillian, a kind of feeling that he greatly admired.
He also wanted to find someone to spend his life with, but that was really hard to find. Humans and dwarves were out of the question, and finding a female elf would take forever, since elves were already very rare.
"Thank you. I appreciate the compliment."
"Frilian said happily."
"It looks like the blizzard has stopped, and I should continue my journey."
Kraft looked at the bright sun in the sky and said that the harsh winter in the northern countries was almost over, and it was time for him to leave.
"Yes! We're also getting ready to leave."
Frilian watched Philon and Shutark cleaning the cabin. After all, they had lived there for almost half a year, and before leaving, they were cleaning up for the people who would come after them and preparing a lot of wood for starting a fire.
"Well, since the weather's nice, I should pack up and get ready to leave."
Kraft got up and went into the cabin to pack his things.
Shi Yichen and the others didn't have anything to pack; everything was in the magic space, so there was nothing to pack.
Kraft and Shi Yichen walked together toward the main road.
"I'll go this way. Shi Yichen, Frilian, I don't think this will be the last time we see each other. See you again in a few hundred years."
After reaching the main road, Kraft told Shi Yichen and Frilian that he looked forward to meeting them again after hundreds of years.
See you next time!
Shi Yichen said to Kraft.
"Yes, please take care of yourselves too."
Kravote nodded, spoke to Philon and Shutark, and then turned and left.
"Take care, Uncle! I've been having a great time these past few days."
Shutark yelled at Kraft from behind.
"Thank you for the pendant."
Philen also spoke to the departing Kraft.
