Chapter 1231 - 1270: Who Was It
But he never expected that the truth would be like this, that his memory was erased intentionally.
Dorian Howards’ face changed drastically upon hearing this.
Seeing the expression on his friend’s face, Kyle Kinston knew that Dorian Howards was aware of the hypnosis.
"Who exactly hypnotized me? Was it just so I would forget Mabel? And what role are you playing in all this?" A string of questions spilled from Kyle Kinston’s mouth.
Dorian Howards took a deep breath, knowing that at this point, it was impossible to keep things hidden. Since Kyle had investigated this far, he was bound to find out, even if he said nothing, Kyle would find a way to uncover the truth.
After all, the tricks he used to deceive the unaware Kyle were easy, but to deceive the informed Kyle was quite difficult.
"Back then, after Mabel went missing, you spent half a year searching but couldn’t find her, so everyone thought she was dead, including you." Dorian Howards said, "Mabel was your lifeline, and if she truly died, I fear you wouldn’t have been able to go on living either. In fact, it was nearly that way; you were almost always in a suicidal state."
"So, was my memory hypnotized for that reason?" Kyle Kinston asked coldly.
"Yes, otherwise how would you have survived?" Dorian Howards replied, "Although I knew back then that without your lifeline, you might not live long, every moment was precious. At the very least, I couldn’t just stand by and watch my friend die without doing anything."
Everything he did afterward was for this reason.
"So, were you the one who decided to hypnotize my memory?" Kyle Kinston asked again.
Dorian Howards hesitated, unsure whether he should mention Francine Howards’ name.
But then he heard Kyle say, "You should know that such hypnosis involves a keyword. If it’s you, then tell me the keyword; if not, then tell me who hypnotized me."
The keyword is also the key to unlocking the hypnosis. Once the keyword is revealed, it becomes easy to break the hypnotic suggestion. However, without knowing the keyword, breaking the hypnosis becomes much more challenging.
Upon hearing this, Dorian Howards sighed and said, "It was Francine; she hypnotized your memory. She knows the keyword. I asked her back then, but she refused to tell."
The room was cold and silent, the atmosphere oppressively terrifying.
Kyle Kinston lowered his gaze and mused, "Is that so? So it was her who hypnotized me; that really surprises me." A woman he didn’t think would affect him at all did this, "It seems I’ve always been too lenient with her, which is why she dared to do something like this."
Having said this, Kyle Kinston turned to leave the CEO’s office.
Seeing this, Dorian Howards knew that Kyle was likely heading for Francine, so he couldn’t help but say, "Kyle, Francine did this because she loved you too much." Francine Howards was his cousin, and he had tacitly agreed to this.
"Is that so? Love me, and thus she can freely rob me of my memories?" Kyle Kinston said coldly, "Who gave her that right?" Especially when those memories were of the only person he ever loved in his life.
