Chapter 439 439: Team 7 Vs Hidden Cloud
Chapter 439 439: Team 7 Vs Hidden Cloud
Land of Moon – Konoha Village Temporary Base
"The Hidden Cloud Village has ceased all raids today." Uchiha Yashiro stepped forward and delivered his report.
"That's not surprising." Uchiha Itachi spoke calmly, his tone steady. "All of their previous sneak attacks ended in failure. They will inevitably change their war strategy."
"With Hinata and White Zetsu here, no matter what they attempt, they won't be able to hide it from us." Inuzuka Tsume said casually, folding her arms.
Hearing her own name mentioned, Hinata felt a quiet surge of joy rise within her chest.
She was no longer the timid girl who once stood behind others. On this battlefield, her existence alone influenced the direction of war.
More importantly, she had not disappointed Kitazawa.
"Let's wait and see how things develop." Uchiha Fugaku concluded in a deep voice. "We'll discuss it further once White Zetsu finalizes the Hidden Cloud Village's new strategy."
"Kabuto-senpai has already defeated the Hidden Sand Village." Sasuke suddenly spoke.
Everyone instinctively turned to look at him, unsure what he intended to say.
"I request that Team 7 raid the Hidden Cloud Village's headquarters." Sasuke's voice was calm and unwavering.
They were already aware of how the Hidden Sand Village had fallen. The Kurenai squad and the Kakashi squad had been the core forces in that victory.
Sasuke had no intention of allowing Team 7 to fall behind. After all, among all the Genius Class graduates, Team 7 stood at the very peak.
"Inappropriate." Uchiha Yashiro immediately objected. "Although you are powerful, the Hidden Cloud Village still has over ten thousand Ninjas."
"The true determinants of victory or defeat on the battlefield are the top experts on both sides," Sasuke replied evenly.
Those were the very words Uchiha Fugaku had spoken during the pre-war Jonin Meeting.
At that time, they had been spoken to partly to elevate morale. Now, Sasuke repeated them as fact.
"In the name of youth, Team 7 will definitely accomplish this mission!" Naruto gave a thumbs-up, grinning widely.
Although Sasuke had not discussed it with him beforehand, Naruto felt the proposal made perfect sense.
Hinata had no objections whatsoever.
If the three of them defeated the Hidden Cloud Village, Kitazawa would certainly acknowledge their strength.
Uchiha Fugaku fell into deep thought. On the surface, three individuals raiding an entire headquarters sounded absurd.
But Team 7 was no ordinary squad. Before the war, he had thoroughly studied their capabilities.
Sasuke had awakened Perfect Susanoo and had become the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki.
Naruto required no introduction—the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki alone stood among the strongest in the entire Ninja World.
Hinata had already proven herself, annihilating four thousand Hidden Cloud Ninjas with a single move.
Such feats were beyond the reach of most elite warriors.
"Father, I believe it's feasible." Uchiha Itachi smiled faintly. "It's time for the Hidden Cloud Village to witness Konoha's new Three Sannin."
Konoha's new Three Sannin? Uchiha Fugaku's eyes flickered.
He understood instantly. This was not merely a battle. It was an opportunity for unparalleled military achievement.
If the three of them truly crushed the Hidden Cloud Village, their accomplishments would be enough to make them candidates for Hokage in the future.
Uchiha Yashiro and Inuzuka Tsume exchanged uneasy glances. They did not possess the same depth of knowledge regarding Team 7's true strength.
From their perspective, this decision carried immense risk.
"Very well." Uchiha Fugaku's voice grew resolute. "Tomorrow, we launch the final battle."
"Let Sasuke and the others confront the Hidden Cloud Village from the front." After a brief pause, Uchiha Itachi added, "We will sweep the battlefield from the flanks and eliminate the remaining enemy forces."
Naruto scratched his head. "Does attacking from the front count as a sneak attack?"
The tent fell silent for a second before laughter erupted.
"The wording isn't important." Uchiha Fugaku coughed lightly. "As long as we win."
"When do we move?" Inuzuka Tsume asked.
Though she still harbored concerns, she could sense the absolute confidence emanating from Fugaku and Itachi.
The true pressure would rest on Sasuke, Naruto, and Hinata.
Yet they were Kitazawa's students. Even if the situation turned dire, retreat was always possible.
And if the plan succeeded, the Hidden Cloud Village would cease to pose a threat altogether.
"Tomorrow." Uchiha Fugaku answered after brief consideration. "I will finalize the tactical deployment."
"Sasuke, the three of you should visit Hokage-sama," Itachi added. "He arrived recently."
Hinata's eyes brightened instantly.
"Let's go now!" Naruto said excitedly.
Sasuke nodded, and the three of them stepped out of the main tent.
"Lord Fugaku." Inuzuka Tsume suddenly spoke again. "We should keep an eye on the Hidden Cloud Village's Chakra Cannon."
"If we engage in a decisive battle directly, the Hidden Cloud Village will find it harder to use the Chakra Cannon."
Uchiha Fugaku smiled faintly. "It would cause massive collateral damage."
"The Chakra Cannon can be handled by Team 7 if they had an opportunity," Itachi said thoughtfully. "I'll inform them tomorrow."
"Indeed. They are the suitable ones to handle it." Uchiha Fugaku nodded. "Let's begin preparations."
Team 7 required no further arrangements.
But the remaining Konoha forces needed to ensure the complete annihilation of the Hidden Cloud Ninjas.
Fortunately, Kitazawa had left them with five thousand White Zetsu. Now was precisely the time to utilize them.
—
Not long afterward, Sasuke, Naruto, and Hinata stood before Kitazawa. They explained the First Ninja Unit's upcoming strategy.
Kitazawa was slightly surprised—but not overly so. Among the four Ninja divisions, the First Ninja Unit possessed the greatest overall strength.
And among the Four Great Villages, the Hidden Cloud Village was the strongest. It was only natural that the strongest would clash with the strongest.
Now, with Team 7 spearheading the assault, the balance had tilted decisively.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, victory was assured.
"Get some rest." Kitazawa reached out and gently patted Hinata's head. "I'll watch how you perform tomorrow."
"Yes, Kitazawa-sensei." The three replied in unison.
—
A new day dawned.
Hidden Cloud Village Temporary Base
The Fourth Raikage stood before a map, his brows tightly furrowed.
During their previous strategy meeting, Mabui had proposed a method to bypass Hinata's Byakugan.
The Heavenly Transfer Technique.
A Space-Time Ninjutsu capable of teleporting objects instantly. However, teleporting a living Ninja required an extraordinarily durable physique.
Within the Hidden Cloud Village, only the Fourth Raikage possessed a body strong enough to withstand its violent spatial pressure.
Wrapped in Lightning Release Chakra Mode, his body rivaled steel.
His Chakra reserves were immense—sufficient for him to activate the Chakra Cannon alone if necessary.
Mabui's plan was simple.
Use the Heavenly Transfer Technique to simultaneously transport both the Fourth Raikage and the Chakra Cannon to a predetermined location.
By doing so, they could circumvent Hinata's long-range observation for a brief window of time.
However, that advantage would not last long.
If Hinata realized what had occurred, she would still be able to locate them after teleportation.
The Fourth Raikage's expression darkened.
They had no other viable option. If this plan failed, then the Hidden Cloud Village's fate would follow that of the Hidden Sand.
And Konoha Village would stand one step closer to unifying the Ninja World.
Therefore, Mabui proposed two solutions.
First, dispatch Hidden Cloud Village Ninjas to hold Hinata back directly, preventing her from focusing fully on the battlefield.
As long as she was occupied, her long-range observation would be affected.
Second, create confusion. Multiple body doubles would accompany the Fourth Raikage, along with a fake Chakra Cannon.
With several identical targets appearing at once, it would be impossible for Hinata to immediately distinguish the real from the fake.
The Fourth Raikage was pondering one critical question. Where should Mabui send him?
At that moment, Dodai and the others hurried into the main tent.
"Lord Raikage!" Mabui's expression turned grave. "A large number of Konoha Village Ninjas are advancing toward our base!"
"What do they intend?" The Fourth Raikage's eyes widened slightly. "They're initiating a decisive battle?"
"That is most likely their purpose." Mabui inhaled deeply. "According to the ANBU report, Uchiha Fugaku is personally leading the force."
"Prepare for battle!" The Fourth Raikage gave the order without hesitation.
"Yes, Lord Raikage!"
A signal flare shot into the sky with a piercing shriek. The Hidden Cloud Village's temporary base erupted into motion.
Troops assembled swiftly. Under the command of the Fourth Raikage, they marched out to confront Konoha's First Ninja Unit.
However, when they neared the battlefield, they discovered something unexpected.
Uchiha Fugaku and his forces halted before reaching the Hidden Cloud base.
"What is this?" The Fourth Raikage frowned in confusion.
Mabui and the others also sensed something unusual.
Then Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata stepped forward. Between the two armies lay a buffer zone of more than a kilometer.
Team 7 immediately became the center of attention.
"They are Kitazawa's three students," Mabui spoke at once.
In truth, the Fourth Raikage and the others had already recognized them. The New Konoha Sannin were famous throughout the Ninja World.
And their teacher—whose name now stood nearly at equal height as God of the Shinobi World—made them impossible to ignore.
"Has Kitazawa arrived?" The Fourth Raikage scanned the battlefield.
"No indication." Mabui paused before adding, "If he were here personally, the situation would not look like this."
The Fourth Raikage hesitated slightly. Though her words stung his pride, they were not without logic.
"Are you the Fourth Raikage?" Sasuke's voice rang out. His gaze locked directly onto the towering figure ahead.
"I am." The Fourth Raikage nodded coldly.
"Good." Sasuke drew the Sword of the Thunder God. "Today will be your last."
The battlefield fell into sudden silence. Then the Hidden Cloud Ninjas exploded in fury.
"Arrogant brat!"
"How dare you speak so disrespectfully to Lord Raikage!"
"Didn't your teacher teach you manners?"
In contrast, the Konoha Ninjas reacted very differently.
"As expected of my son." Uchiha Fugaku allowed himself a satisfied smile.
Uchiha Itachi merely shook his head.
He knew Sasuke well. Sasuke wasn't driven by hatred—he simply enjoyed asserting dominance.
"As a genius of the Uchiha Clan, such confidence is natural." Uchiha Yashiro spoke with pride.
The surrounding Uchiha Ninjas shared the same sentiment. This was the pride of the Uchiha Clan.
"How come you're claiming him first?" Naruto stepped forward with a grin. "No way. The Fourth Raikage is mine! I heard he's an incredible taijutsu fighter!"
"I already said it," Sasuke replied evenly. "You're not taking him."
"Enough!" Before Naruto could continue, the Fourth Raikage's roar thundered across the field.
His face had darkened completely.
He, the Fourth Raikage—one of the most formidable figures in the Ninja World—was being treated like a prize to be divided between two youths.
His temper, never mild to begin with, ignited instantly. Lightning flashed.
In a blink, the Fourth Raikage vanished from his position. He reappeared before Sasuke, raising his elbow and slamming it down with crushing force.
"Good timing!" Sasuke's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan flared to life.
He locked onto every movement—yet he did not move. A massive purple hand materialized before him.
Susanoo.
The Raikage's elbow struck the spectral arm with a heavy impact.
Lightning Release Chakra erupted violently. Lightning crackled and enveloped the Raikage A's body.
Sasuke's expression changed slightly, feeling a sense of danger.
Lariat!
The Fourth Raikage A gathered Lightning Release Chakra in his right hand.
With a crack!
He directly pierced through the giant hand formed by Susanoo, and with undiminished momentum, it lunged toward Sasuke.
"Lightning Release: Chidori Blade!" Sasuke twisted his wrist.
The Sword of the Thunder God flashed forward, aimed directly at the Raikage's arm.
The Raikage frowned and withdrew. Even protected by Lightning Release Chakra Mode, his arm remained flesh and blood.
"The speed is impressive," Sasuke spoke quietly.
When the Raikage activated Lightning Release Chakra Mode, his speed rivaled the Flying Thunder God Technique.
That was no exaggeration.
In the past, the Fourth Hokage, Minato, had earned fame precisely by clashing with this man, holding off both the Fourth Raikage and Killer Bee simultaneously.
"Lord Raikage!" Mabui stepped forward urgently. "Uchiha Fugaku's forces have split apart. Judging by their formation, they intend to surround us!"
"Surround us?" The Raikage scoffed. "We outnumber them two to one. Have they lost their senses?"
"Their objective is to have those three stall us from the front." Mabui analyzed carefully.
"They truly look down on us." The Raikage laughed coldly. In all his years, he had never been underestimated so openly.
"Lord Raikage, those three are extremely strong." Mabui cautioned.
"No matter how strong, there are only three." The Raikage drew in a breath. "Mabui. Take five thousand men and intercept Uchiha Fugaku's forces. I will handle these three myself."
"Yes, Lord Raikage." Mabui responded without hesitation.
"Naruto, we can't let them split their forces," Sasuke said quickly as he saw the Hidden Cloud troops beginning to move. "Our mission is to hold everyone here!"
"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto roared.
In an instant, more than three thousand Shadow Clones appeared, filling the battlefield to his left and right.
The Hidden Cloud Ninjas stared in stunned disbelief.
Fourth Raikage A and the others also showed surprise on their faces.
