Chapter 479 Shadow Dragon
Chapter 479 Shadow Dragon
"It's so quiet. The previous areas were full of monsters. Here, there isn't a single one."
Arjun frowned.
"They were probably all driven away by the BOSS. The BOSS's territory doesn't allow other monsters to exist."
Raji grinned.
"That's perfect. Saves us the trouble of clearing the way."
The two continued on their way.
After walking for about ten minutes, the enormous altar was finally fully revealed before them.
The altar is about 100 meters high and is made of black boulders, with strange runes carved all over its surface.
The runes emitted a faint red glow in the darkness, flowing slowly as if they were alive.
At the top of the altar, the enormous figure slowly rose to its feet.
It turned around and looked down at the two tiny humans below.
That was a giant beast.
It is over thirty meters long, covered in jet-black scales, with thick limbs and a pair of huge wings on its back—but they appear to have degenerated and are unable to fly.
Its head resembled that of a legendary demon, with ferocious horns curving upwards and stark white fangs protruding from its gaping maw.
The most terrifying thing was those eyes.
Crimson red, burning, as if containing an endless desire for slaughter.
Shadow Dragon (Guardian of the Realm)
Rating: 55
Health Points: ? ? ?
Skills: Shadow Breath, Dragon Tail Sweep, Shadow Shield, Berserk...
A system notification flashed before their eyes.
Raj's eyes widened in surprise.
"A demonic dragon!!! A level 55 demonic dragon!!!"
Arjun's expression was grave.
"Raji, this is no joke."
Raj laughed.
"So what? The more blood, the longer the fight goes on, the more fun it'll be!"
He drew the twin swords from his back—his spoils from this secret realm, two scimitars gleaming with a dark purple light, incredibly sharp.
Arjun sighed and gripped his staff tightly.
"Then let's fight."
He raised his staff and chanted incantations.
【Tranquility Mantra】—Activation.
A faint golden light emanated from him, enveloping a ten-meter radius around him.
Raji was enveloped in light, felt his body become lighter, his defenses were significantly enhanced, and at the same time, a faint life force was slowly flowing into his body.
"Thanks!" Raj shouted.
He rushed toward the altar.
The shadow dragon let out a deafening roar, leaped down from the top of the altar, and crashed heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
boom--!!!
The battle begins.
......
In the eastern border, somewhere in the mountains.
Ye Yao stood on a high slope, looking down at the team that was gathering below.
More than a hundred female players, all well-equipped and full of energy. These are all the members of her guild "Shadowwing" in the Eastern Territory.
Shen Yiyi walked over to her and handed her a bottle of water.
"President, everyone has assembled. One hundred and twenty-three people, not a single one missing."
Ye Yao took the water and drank a sip.
"Thanks for your hard work."
Shen Yiyi smiled.
"It's not hard work. It's just a bit tiring running around. The sisters are very cooperative. As soon as they heard we were going to meet, they all rushed over here immediately."
Ye Yao nodded.
Her gaze swept over those familiar faces, and a warm feeling welled up inside her.
Entering the second round, her biggest concern was that the members would be scattered and unable to form a fighting force.
it's good now.
One hundred and twenty-three people, all in the Eastern Territory.
And they have already assembled.
"President," Shen Yiyi suddenly said, "one of the sisters has discovered an interesting place."
Ye Yao looked at her.
"Where?"
Shen Yiyi said, "Thirty kilometers to the east, there's a dungeon entrance. It's not a regular monster area; it's a challenge dungeon."
Ye Yao's eyes lit up.
"Challenge dungeon?"
Shen Yiyi nodded.
"Yes. That sister went in and took a look, and found that it was a series of levels. Each level you pass earns you a lot of points. The more levels you pass, the more points you get. And there are treasure chests on each level, which might contain good stuff."
Ye Yao seemed to be deep in thought.
"How difficult is it?"
Shen Yiyi said, "The monsters on the first floor are level 52 elites. She couldn't beat them by herself and had to retreat. But she said that if more than a hundred of us went together, we should be able to get through a few floors."
Ye Yao thought for a moment.
"For this kind of challenging instance, having more people might not be effective. There may be limitations in terms of space."
Shen Yiyi nodded.
"That's what I think too. So we can send a small team in to test it out first, figure out the rules, and then decide how to fight."
Ye Yao looked at her and smiled.
"Yiyi, you're becoming more and more like a strategist."
Shen Yiyi blushed.
"No, I was just imagining things."
Ye Yao patted her on the shoulder.
"Let's go check out that instance."
......
Thirty minutes later.
Ye Yao and Shen Yiyi stood in front of a huge stone gate.
The stone gate is twenty meters high and is made entirely of gray rock, with its surface covered with intricate runes.
Above the stone gate, three large characters faintly glowed:
Tower of Trials
"The Tower of Trials..." Ye Yao murmured.
Shen Yiyi said, "This is it. After entering, you will be teleported to the first floor. Each floor has guards; defeat the guards to enter the next floor. You can exit at any time, but you cannot re-enter after exiting."
Ye Yao nodded.
Then he said to Shen Yiyi.
"Send a small team in to test the waters first. You, me, and a few elites will join you. The rest of you will stay outside, ready to provide backup at any time."
Shen Yiyi nodded.
"it is good."
Ten minutes later, a ten-person team was assembled.
Ye Yao looked at everyone.
"Is everything ready?"
Everyone nodded.
Ye Yao took a deep breath and pushed open the stone door.
A flash of white light, and the ten people disappeared inside the door.
......
The Tower of Trials, Level 1.
Ye Yao opened her eyes and found herself standing on a huge circular platform.
The platform is about fifty meters in diameter, and is surrounded by endless darkness.
Above them was nothingness, and beneath their feet were smooth black stone slabs. A faint golden light enveloped the edge of the platform, keeping the darkness at bay.
In the center of the platform stood a huge figure.
It was a gargoyle, over five meters tall, made entirely of black rock, with a pair of enormous wings on its back.
Its eyes were closed, and it remained motionless, as if it were asleep.
Gargoyle Guardian (Elite)
Rating: 52
Ye Yao glanced at it and understood what was going on.
"Warrior, step forward and draw aggro. Mages, output damage from the back row, healers, keep a close eye on health. Assassin, follow me around to the back and look for opportunities to strike vital points."
Everyone quickly took their positions.
Ye Yao gripped the dagger tightly, and her figure gradually became transparent.
Her body merged into the darkness, and her presence vanished completely.
The gargoyle opened its eyes.
It saw the warrior before it, let out a low roar, and pounced with its huge stone claws.
The battle begins.
The warrior stood at the forefront, his shield taking the brunt of the blow.
