Chapter 114 Dark Alley
Chapter 114 Dark Alley
Holmes's sixth sense told him that the Emperor's Pistol would not be able to do much damage to the Rat King.
So he followed Oingo out of the secret passage quietly, and acted cautiously, not daring to make a sound... Even so, it doesn't prove that he was a coward.
"Huff...huff, what kind of monster is this? It's fucking disgusting..."
After leaving the dark passage, Oingo promptly wiped the sweat from his face to prevent salt from getting into his eyes and causing them to sting.
He expressed his panic and confusion, as did Holt Hols, but having seen some monsters, he was able to do some hindsight thinking when faced with those disgusting things.
This feeling was all too familiar. The girl also had this strange aura, so he naturally assumed that the Rat King, like the tentacle monster, might be a product of a curse.
But the arrow is in that bastard Tobio's hands! Could it be that he's still on the ship?
This possible conclusion made Holmes even more alarmed than the appearance of the rat monster.
"That's a demon! It's more than just a monster!"
Hol Hols shouted, startling Oingo, who jumped up and covered Hols's mouth.
"What's wrong with you? That monster is right down there! ...Aren't you afraid of dying?"
The tone was panicked, but the voice was very soft.
"Sigh...you don't have to exaggerate like that, do you? How can rats have such good hearing? They can ignore the sound of the door opening right next to them."
Hol Hols pried open the other person's strong hand, muttered a retort, and quickly ran up the stairs.
"Then what are you afraid of? Why are you running so fast?"
I'm afraid of Tobias! If you ever run into him and know who he is, you'll run faster than I do!
Hol Hol's idea was definitely to leave this place and see the sky first, so as not to run into Tobio... otherwise, even several lives wouldn't be enough for him to die.
If his luck is truly terrible and something that shouldn't have happened happens, he still has to try his best to catch up in order to gain the prince's protection.
"But I'm pretty lucky, I just don't believe I'll run into that!"
It was pretty good; even though they weren't going very fast, they still managed to see the sun on the deck smoothly.
Tobio did not appear along the way, and the mouse did not follow.
"What happened? Hol Holmes...where's the body?"
"Didn't find them, but found some rats... countless, disgusting rats."
"mouse?"
The prince happened to come up from somewhere and happened to meet the two subordinates who had fled in panic. He was also puzzled by their reply.
"This ship is very clean; there might only be one or two rats at most, right? Why are you all so scared?"
"You'll find out when you go down there."
"Don't listen to this idiot, we can't go down!"
Hol Holmes interrupted Oingo, leaning close to the prince's ear to report.
"There's a monster there... a monster similar to that tentacle monster. I suspect... it might be because of that cursed arrow, but... but that curse is in that bastard's hands."
Hol. Hol has made it very clear, he's practically stating the 99% probability of Tobio's existence.
As expected, the prince was alarmed.
"So, should we seal off this area? Or should we find a shore to dock at first... Ahhh, these are important... But, but what about the most important thing: the body?"
"The corpse...it was probably eaten by that monster. I can see some hand bones and hear some chewing sounds..."
"It's all over..." The prince was completely dumbfounded.
......
Satan dug in the soil for nearly an hour. After digging through, he cautiously walked inside, searching for something strange.
They reached the end of the tomb, the one where Diablo had obtained the arrow, and lit an oil lamp on the wall.
However, Yedan discovered that all the way to the bottom, there were neither traps nor treasures.
"I knew it..."
Yedan felt that Satan's suggestion was a waste of an hour or two of his time, and the fact that the dilapidated pyramid was unbearably hot inside made him feel extremely stifled.
So much frustration can't be bottled up; it has to be released.
"How about we dismantle this pyramid and use these puppets? We're sure to find something!"
"Master, don't go crazy... let's leave."
"So you mean all my time has been wasted, that I've worked for nothing... I'm not happy about that."
Yedan didn't say he wanted to stay here. His precise suggestion was to let these puppets dig here while he hid in the taxi, enjoying the air conditioning, and wait for the moment when the pyramid was breached... Even if the puppets' bodies couldn't take it and they died from exhaustion, it didn't matter; they could just find a few more.
"I have a strong feeling that there are still mysteries inside this pyramid."
It was an absurd suggestion. Satan was unwilling to accept it, but after thinking about it for a moment, he decided to let him dig. After all, it was impossible for him to dig through the tomb. Perhaps his master would give up before he even broke through the outer layer of the tomb.
"Alright, let's dig, in order to dig up the treasure."
The six puppets began to dig around in the tomb. One of them, the taxi driver, happened to dig into the wall where the Red Arrow had been placed, creating a hole.
"Huh? There really is a treasure?"
Satan was amazed, and Yedan hadn't expected it either, but he was very proud.
"Let me take a look..."
The hole dug with the shovel was naturally obscured, but Yedan could sense that it wasn't too deep, so he immediately tried to crawl inside.
"Master! Should we send the puppet? Just in case there's something inside..."
It was too late to stop them; Yedan had already entered the cave. It wasn't deep, and it was very dark, but they were able to find a hidden path, like a narrow alley.
"Master...should we have the puppets lead the way? This path probably isn't very safe."
"Yes...and the flashlight is with the driver, so he'll be fine on his own."
Yedan quickly climbed out again and directed the driver to crawl in. The driver was quite large, so although he wouldn't get stuck at the entrance, climbing in would likely trap his beer belly.
"Damn puppet..."
Yedan kicked the driver in the buttocks with a light kick, successfully sending him tumbling inside.
"It turns out there was a path inside, like an alley, with no end in sight? That's a bit of an exaggeration..."
Jedan also entered the cave, and Satan used the driver's flashlight to get a clear view of the road conditions.
There is no end above, no end to the road, and no end to the flashlight's beam.
"There's definitely treasure here, in this potentially haunted alley..."
After Yedan's excitement subsided, the driver who had taken the first few steps suddenly died, his head severed in half. The flashlight he was holding fell to the ground, its lens covered in blood, emitting a red light.
"It seems there's a trap..."
Yedan mustered his courage and quickly retrieved the flashlight in front of him. He scrambled out of the cave and collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.
"Master... there's really no need to panic. The traps on this road are probably higher up... we're lucky."
Satan prompted Jestan to approach the cave entrance and look up. A few steps away from the cave entrance in the alley, a thin, shiny thread, illuminated by a flashlight, hung high up, stained with blood and red and white brain matter.
