Chapter 57 The Little Sun is Spreading the Word
Chapter 57 The Little Sun is Spreading the Word
Just as Derrick finished writing the recipe for the Singer's Potion, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
"Knock knock knock—"
"Derrick! Derrick, are you there? Open the door!"
Derrick Berg paused for a moment, then immediately opened the door and saw a member of the patrol team he knew.
Upon seeing him, the other person said with a serious and solemn expression, "The Chief has something to discuss with you. Also, it seems there has been some change in your parents' situation. Please go to the morgue immediately."
Derrick Berg tensed up immediately, but remembering Mr. Fool's words, a sense of anticipation rose in his heart. He quickly followed the other party to the morgue hall and saw two people standing in the hall from afar.
Those were his parents, who were already lying in their coffins, barely clinging to life, and about to be killed.
"Dad! Mom!"
Derrick Berg's vision blurred instantly, and he almost instinctively rushed forward and hugged the two of them.
Derrick's parents were clearly taken aback, but after regaining their composure, the couple responded to Derrick.
After a while, Derrick finally let go of his parents and looked them over nervously and carefully. Sure enough, he found that their injuries had completely healed.
This made Derrick even more grateful to Mr. Fool.
"Derrick!" Just then, a deep male voice came from the side.
Derrick looked over and saw a tall figure; it was Colin Iliad, the chief of Silver City.
"Derrick, you don't seem surprised by the miracles that happened to your parents." Colin Iliad's gaze was sharp as he sized up the boy before him, speaking in a tone that was not particularly harsh, even gentle: "Perhaps you wouldn't mind telling me why."
"I have met a deity." Derrick Berg said without any hesitation. Before the Tarot session ended, he had asked Mr. Fool and had obtained his consent in this regard.
Mr. Fool doesn't mind if the others in the Silver City know of his existence.
"He is a very powerful, mysterious, and benevolent being. He mercifully granted my wish..." So at this moment, Derrick couldn't wait to let the whole world know how wonderful Mr. Fool was, and words of praise just kept pouring out of his mouth like they were free.
As for concealing the matter from Mr. Fool, Derrick hadn't considered it. On the one hand, the fact that his parents had recovered their health was impossible to hide, and on the other hand, although Derrick was still young, he had already noticed the current predicament of Silver City.
He knew that Silver City needed a god to save it, otherwise it might not be long before it truly fell into the abyss.
……
Queens Backlund...
"The eyes of an adult Manhar fish, I think there are some in the warehouse? Even if there aren't, I should be able to trade them for from someone else, and the blood of the ram-horned blackfish..."
Audrey, who had just been rapidly writing down the audience's potion recipe on paper with a pen, couldn't help but stand up and excitedly dance a short dance after figuring out where to get the necessary materials.
Everything that happened today was too magical for her, perfectly fulfilling Audrey's longing and fantasy for the mysterious and extraordinary.
"It's a pity I can't share this with others..." After finishing her dance, Audrey resumed her ladylike sitting posture, but couldn't help feeling a pang of regret in her heart.
Although Mr. Fool didn't mind them publicizing his existence, Audrey was a sensible person. She knew that if she really publicized Mr. Fool's existence in aristocratic circles, she might be warned by the orthodox church or even imprisoned the next day.
"I wonder if there will ever be a day when I can openly talk about Mr. Fool," Audrey muttered to herself.
……
Sunia Sea —
Alger opened his eyes on the deck. Everything before him seemed the same as before, yet Alger knew that everything was different now.
Thinking about what had just happened, Alger felt a tremor almost from the bottom of his heart, and couldn't help but subconsciously think about it.
This time, he didn't think about Mr. Fool, but rather about the other members of the Tarot Club.
"Justice is clearly a noble lady from Rune, most likely from Backlund. The Moon is hard to discern, but is probably a member of Mr. Fool's retinue. The World might be an Extraordinary being from a different path. The Sun is young, but seems to come from a very strange place, though I feel like I've heard of it somewhere before..."
Alger frowned as he recalled how Derrick had inadvertently revealed information about his birthplace when describing his parents, and he searched his memory for relevant information.
He wasn't known for his memory, but thanks to his instinct to jot down key information when things happened, Alger quickly located the suspected target.
—The land forsaken by God.
A place that the seven gods are searching for, but cannot find.
Could the sun come from there?
Alger's heart skipped a beat. While feeling incredulous, he was also determined to get some information out of the Sun during the next Tarot session.
He could tell that Taiyang was a complete novice, the kind of person who was usually easy to fool.
"Compared to these, the Hermit seems somewhat familiar. I might have seen her somewhere before..." Alger thought of the Hermit Cattleya's behavior and narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
Where exactly is it?
Alger suddenly recalled information he had read about several pirate generals, one of whom had facial features that seemed to match those of the Hermit Lady.
……
Also in the Sea of Sunia—
On the Future, Cattleya was unaware that someone had already vaguely realized her identity; at that moment, she was writing a letter.
The letter was undoubtedly about the Fool, because this time she had the Fool's permission, and Cattleya wrote without any concealment, describing the Fool's situation in almost every detail, but without specifically describing the other members of the Tarot Club.
The Fool doesn’t mind if they proclaim His existence, but he doesn’t allow them to disclose information about other Tarot members.
This is normal. After all, as a mysterious servant who owns the Source Castle and has cooperated with the Goddess of the Night, Mr. Fool himself is not afraid of being publicized. However, the other members of the Tarot Club are not. Mr. Fool has to ensure the safety of the Tarot Club members, at least they cannot be in danger because of participating in the Tarot Club.
The recipient of Cattleya's letter was, of course, her adoptive mother, teacher, and secret ally, the mysterious Queen Bernadette Gustave.
……
Above the gray fog, Mr. Fool, who was secretly observing Derrick the Little Sun, confirmed that the chief of Silver City had not taken down the Little Sun on the spot because of his belief in the "evil god".
The other party subtly extracted more information about the Tarot Society from Derrick, including the price of Derrick's wishes, and then offered to come to him if Derrick had any questions while researching historical materials.
This relieved Mr. Fool, ending his screen-peeping.
