Chapter 1390 Nico Lane's Worst Plan
Chapter 1390 Nico Lane's Worst Plan
After Klee bit Yuan Shang, her small body remained tense, her face covered in tears and snot, even her little nose was red from crying.
She raised her head, and her once clear and bright eyes were now filled with hatred that did not belong to someone her age.
Klee stared intently at the abyssal monsters watching around her, then looked at Shao Yun, who stood expressionless not far away.
She turned around abruptly, grabbed her small schoolbag, and frantically but quickly rummaged through it, her fingertips brushing against the various trinkets inside, until she finally found the familiar, round, bouncing bomb.
Klee clutched the bouncy bomb in her hand, tilted her little face up, and shouted at the top of her lungs:
"Don't bully Mommy! You're all bad people! Klee's going to blow you all up with a bouncy bomb! Blow up all you bad guys!"
Her voice was young yet firm, filled with a desperate and indignant grief. Tears welled up again, rolling down her cheeks and dripping onto the bouncy bomb in her hand, but they did not shake her determination to protect her mother in the slightest.
This was the only way she could protect her mother, and even though she was very young and her opponent was very strong, she would never back down.
Fuchigami stared in horror at the bouncy bomb Klee was waving in her hand. He instinctively took a step back, but dared not forcibly snatch it. He could only frantically wave his hands, his voice panicked and urgent as he tried to dissuade her:
"Hey! No, no, no! Kids aren't allowed to play with explosives! It's dangerous! Put the bomb down right now, it'll blow you up!"
Klee completely ignored his advice, raising the bouncy bomb high in her hand, glaring fearlessly at Shao Yun and the surrounding abyssal monsters, and roaring again at the top of her lungs:
"You bunch of bastards who bullied Mommy, Klee will blow you all up!!! I must protect Mommy today!"
Before she finished speaking, Ke Li was ready to throw the bomb at Shao Yun and those who had hurt her mother, regardless of the consequences.
At this critical moment, Shao Yun made a move.
He rushed up to Claire and, before she could react, reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Keli struggled desperately, trying to break free from Shao Yun's grasp, but she couldn't budge him at all.
With a slight effort, Shao Yun carefully snatched the bouncing bomb from her tightly clenched hand. Then, without hesitation, he raised his hand and, just before the bomb was fully detonated, threw it high into the air.
"Bam—!"
After a loud bang, the bouncy bomb exploded in the night sky, bursting into a dazzling display of light, like a brief but brilliant firework, piercing the deathly silence of the night sky over Floating Feather Bay.
But this splendor ultimately failed to dispel the bloodshed and sorrow at the scene.
Keli stopped struggling, her small body frozen in place. She raised her head and looked at Shao Yun in front of her.
This older brother who once took her horseback riding in Mondstadt, accompanied her fishing by the lake, and carried her back to the Knights of Favonius after she got tired of playing.
This older brother, who used to smile gently at her and buy her candy, now seemed so unfamiliar that it terrified her.
His hands were still stained with blood, and his body reeked of blood; his former gentleness was gone.
Klee's eyes filled with tears again, large teardrops rolling down her cheeks, and snot almost dripping into her mouth.
She sniffed, and in a clear but aggrieved and indignant voice, asked, word by word, "Brother Shao Yun...why?"
"Why did you bully Barbara? Why did you hurt Jean? Why... why did you kill my mother?"
Her voice grew increasingly choked and trembling, until finally she couldn't hold back any longer and burst into tears.
"You bad guy! You're a big bad guy!!!"
Shao Yun looked down at Ke Li, who was crying her heart out, and listened to her tearful accusations.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, wanting to explain something, but the words stuck in his throat.
He didn't want to answer, and he didn't know how to answer.
He simply looked at her quietly, without uttering a word.
A long silence replaced all explanations. Perhaps even he himself didn't know how to face Klee like this, or how to answer these questions.
Alice, sprawled on the ground, looked at the small figure blocking her way. With her last ounce of strength, she forced out a muffled, blood-tinged voice, pleading:
"Klee...go...go quickly...don't look back..."
When Claire heard her mother's weak words, her crying paused slightly. Then she quickly wiped away her tears and snot, straightened her small body, and spread her arms to firmly block Alice's way.
Her body was so small and thin, yet at this moment it was like a majestic mountain, protecting Alice completely.
Even though her legs were still trembling slightly with fear, and even though she was still afraid when she looked into Shao Yun's cold eyes, her determination to protect her mother overcame all her fear.
"Mommy, I won't leave!" Klee looked up at her with unusual determination and said, "Klee will protect Mommy! No one is allowed to bully Klee's best mommy!"
Shao Yun reached out, wanting to gently pull away Klee, who was blocking Alice's way, but Klee remained rooted to the spot, refusing to move an inch.
Helpless, Shao Yun could only put on a fierce look and threaten in a tough tone, "This has nothing to do with you, Ke Li. Listen to me and go!"
His tone was fierce, but he deliberately suppressed the harshness in his words; the complex emotions on his face ultimately overshadowed his ruthlessness.
He didn't want to really scare Klee, but he also couldn't let her stay there and delay his finishing off Alice.
However, Klee was not intimidated by his threats at all; instead, she acted like an enraged little animal.
She lowered her head, opened her small mouth, and bit Shao Yun's right arm hard, as if she wanted to tear a piece of flesh off his arm to vent her anger and stop him from hurting her mother.
Not far away, the Heavenly Horse "Plague" noticed that Shao Yun had been bitten and immediately let out a low and majestic neigh. The miasma surrounding its body surged slightly, as if it wanted to go forward to help.
But Shao Yun raised his other hand in time and waved it gently, indicating that "Plague" did not need to interfere. His eyes were still on Ke Li, without any anger, only a bottomless calm.
The next second, with a soft "sizzle", Keli actually used her tiny teeth to bite off a piece of flesh covered in blood from Shao Yun's arm!
Instantly, warm blood gushed from the wound, sliding down Shao Yun's arm and dripping onto the beach, mingling with the bloodstains on the ground and staining Ke Li's lips and cheeks red.
Anyone else would have been wincing in pain and yelling, but Shao Yun remained unfazed.
He just quietly looked at Keli, who was biting her arm and had a fierce look in her eyes. He felt so sorry for her and helpless, but he wasn't angry at all.
Klee released her grip, spitting the piece of flesh she had bitten off onto the ground. Her small face was covered in blood, and her actions were filled with a hatred beyond her years. She said firmly:
"Klee, I hate you!"
These four short words pierced Shao Yun's heart.
He looked at the little girl in front of him, her eyes filled with hatred, and slowly raised his bitten arm. He then gestured with his chin toward the Apocalypse Horse "Plague" not far away, signaling it to come and treat his wound.
"Plague" understood and slowly stepped forward, opening its mouth to exhale a faint, healing breath that enveloped Shao Yun's wound, gradually stopping the bleeding.
Shao Yun looked at his healing wound, then glanced at Keli, who was still standing in front of Alice. He didn't mention being bitten, nor did he pressure her to leave. He simply asked softly:
"Klee, how did you get here?"
He was quite curious about how this little girl had managed to break through the Abyss Order's obstruction and find this remote and dangerous Floating Feather Bay.
Just as Shao Yun was waiting for her answer, a soft yet somewhat familiar female voice suddenly rang in his mind.
It appeared in my mind without being transmitted through my ears.
"it's me!"
Shao Yun froze, instinctively stopping his movements.
The voice sounded familiar, like I'd heard it somewhere before, but I couldn't quite place it.
At this moment, the airflow spewed out by the "plague" had gradually dissipated, and the wound on his arm that had been torn off had healed completely.
Shao Yun withdrew his arm and looked around warily, his eyes sweeping over the abyssal monsters, the prisoners lying on the ground, and Klee who was blocking Alice's way, trying to find the owner of the voice.
Just then, a slender figure slowly emerged from not far away, her steps elegant and composed, approaching the crowd step by step.
She was a slender blonde woman with long, flowing golden hair cascading over her shoulders. She had an upright posture and an elegant, noble air.
Shao Yun looked at the unfamiliar blonde woman and asked, "Who are you?"
He was certain that he had never seen this woman before, yet the voice that echoed in his mind felt strangely familiar.
The blonde woman in front of him, wearing a white beret and exuding a cool and aloof air, did not speak, nor did her lips move at all, yet her voice reappeared clearly in Shao Yun's mind.
“My name is Nico Lane. I am a member of the Angel race and one of the few remaining angels who still retain their complete physical form and intelligence.”
She paused, then added, "You should know me, right? My other identity is a member of the Witch's Guild, codename 'N'."
"Witches 'N'?"
Shao Yun did recognize the code name. Back in Sumeru, he had a brief encounter with the witch codenamed "N," but she hadn't revealed her true form then. He never expected her to be this blonde woman in front of him.
But at this moment, he had no mind to recall his past in Sumeru, nor to exchange pleasantries.
Shao Yun glanced at Nico Lane, then at Klee, who still glared at him with hatred, and demanded, "I don't care if you're an angel or an 'N' from the Witches' Guild. What are you doing bringing Klee here?"
"I won't stop you from coming here to be buried with Alice; that's your choice. But why bring a child here? Klee shouldn't be in a place like this!"
Nico Lane looked at Alice, who was lying on the ground, barely breathing, and his voice still echoed in Shao Yun's mind as he explained his purpose.
“I advised Alice not to come, not to try to unite everyone to besiege you. She has no chance of winning this war.”
“But she wouldn’t listen. She said that if we don’t seize this opportunity and stop you, Teyvat will surely be destroyed.”
"I have no choice but to predict the future and find an ending that will allow her to survive."
At this point, her gaze shifted to Cleo, who was standing in front of Alice.
"I have predicted the future no less than ten thousand times, and every time, Alice is destined to die. This ending is a dead end as long as it comes."
"It wasn't until the very end that I realized that only Klee, only Klee's appearance, could break this inevitable fate and give this ending a glimmer of hope!"
