Chapter 12 Prologue
Chapter 12 Prologue
The battle against Caesar's Legion was won. The New California Republic destroyed Graham's legion at the cost of the entire city of Rock, and then took the opportunity to reclaim Hoover Dam.
Although Caesar himself on the other side of the river did not order the legions to leave, but instead set up camp on the east bank to continue the standoff with New California, everyone understood that the legions would not launch another attack easily in the short term.
Mojave remains in the same state as before, at least for now.
As for himself at this moment, his consciousness gradually returned, the previous battle was still vivid in his mind, and he felt as if he had just had a comfortable sleep. Apart from a slight pain in the back of his head, the tension he felt earlier had mostly disappeared.
As I subconsciously stretched and opened my eyes, I looked around and saw John and the others turn around to look after hearing the commotion.
Upon seeing him, their eyes lit up with surprise. Then, after taking a drag of his cigarette, Rand said with a hint of sarcasm, "You're really lucky, kid. Throughout the entire war, apart from being knocked unconscious and taking a nap, you haven't suffered any serious injuries."
Upon hearing these words, the lingering drowsiness in my eyes vanished.
Then, looking at the group of people in front of him, all of whom were bandaged, and feeling himself again, he realized that apart from a slight pain in the back of his head, he didn't feel anything strange. He smiled at them.
Then, with a touch of self-deprecation, he said, "Maybe all my good luck was used up at this time..."
A week later, Huo Yuhao, who was resting at the McCarran camp, was lying on the edge of his bed, looking at the pre-battle map in front of him, and began to plan his route to leave.
Although he felt a little reluctant, he knew it was time to leave and find a way home.
As for where to look, he already had a target in mind. During his years in Mojave, he had been searching for clues, but without any results.
However, he learned from pre-war books and from Apocalyptic followers that there might be a place where he could return home: Washington, D.C., the pre-war capital of the country.
As one of the most powerful countries in the region before the war, its capital must have contained a wealth of data and information, making it the most likely place to find a way home.
However, getting to the post-nuclear wasteland of the capital is destined to be no easy task.
After all, traveling from Mojave to the Capital Wasteland is essentially a journey across the entire continent from west to east.
In the two hundred years following the nuclear war, virtually no one came to Mojave from the capital's wasteland; all the information available came from before the war.
Even so, Huo Yuhao did not intend to give up. After blocking the Caesar Legion's attack, Huo Yuhao did not need to worry about John and the others' situation here for a short period of time.
Therefore, at this point, he had already begun preparing to leave.
Just as Huo Yuhao was planning his route on the map, John glanced at the barracks from outside and left.
Another week passed, and the preparations for leaving were complete. Everything that needed to be packed was packed. Now all that was left was to tell John and the others about this matter and to leave the New California military.
However, before he could speak, a soldier approached him, saying that Ranger Sergeant Hanlong was looking for him at the golf camp.
Upon hearing the order, the boy did not hesitate and immediately went over.
When he entered Sergeant Hanlong's office, he saw John there as well.
After glancing at Huo Yuhao, Hanlong then looked at John. Seeing that the other party didn't react, he sighed slightly.
Long Wande wanted to find his father, to know why he left and what he was going to do.
At this moment, Long Wande was in the carriage, gripping his 10mm pistol tightly, listening to the dense gunfire and fighting sounds outside, while Gou Rou was close to him.
Outside, a group of bandits encountered a group of super mutants, and the two sides fought each other. Unfortunately, Long Wande was caught in the middle.
Given the current situation, we can only go out when things calm down outside. After all, there are so many enemies outside, and dealing with them won't be easy.
The fighting outside continued, but gunfire erupted from the other side. As the sounds of battle outside gradually subsided, Dog Meat beside him seemed to notice and looked outside.
As things calmed down outside, Dog Meat was the first to run out, barking to one side.
Upon seeing this, Long Wande immediately followed, simultaneously aiming his pistol at the direction of Dog Meat's frantic barking.
However, he was clearly stunned when he saw the situation there.
In his eyes, a man wearing a black helmet and armor was holding an anti-materiel sniper rifle in the distance. The smoke from the muzzle had not yet completely dissipated, which was enough to prove that the group of people who had just fought were killed by the other side.
The other party also noticed the situation and quickly pulled out a revolver, aiming it at the spot.
At this moment, Long Wande could only keep his gun raised in the face of this situation, and the two sides were deadlocked.
However, just as Long Wande was staring intently at the other person, a slightly childish voice came from inside the helmet, "Need help, shelter resident...?"
