The Silent Witch of Hogwarts

Chapter 50: The Uninvited Guest

Chapter 50: The Uninvited Guest

Finally, it was over. After the incredibly awkward dinner, Loila felt alive again.

Was Dumbledore doing this on purpose? Was it to make it harder for himself to defeat him? Or was he simply that malicious?

Thinking this, Loira walked to the side door of the auditorium. Because of her deliberate waiting, all the students had already left, including the professors...

Finally, I can be alone.

"Clatter".

Suddenly, Loila heard a strange sound of footsteps.

Is it Dumbledore?

Is it still a ghost? Loira just saw those "friendly" friends at the dinner party...

"Mr. Potter... what a coincidence... to run into you here..."

"Alas!"

Hearing the sound coming from around the corner of the corridor, Loila instinctively froze in place.

That's Professor Snape's voice!

How...how did he get here?

Royla felt lucky that she hadn't run into Snape at the dinner party, but now it seemed she might have been better off having met him!

So she quickly raised her wand and flicked it.

Disappearing in disguise!

With the help of the Disillusionment Charm, Loila quickly transformed into a semi-transparent form and disappeared into the corridor.

She had just disappeared when Snape came over with two students.

One was Harry Potter, the boy Royla had met in Knockturn Alley who miraculously survived; the other was a boy with red hair.

Hmm... Looking at the two students who looked dissatisfied and were loudly explaining something, Loila thought of the girl she met on the train.

They must be the ones she's looking for, right?

"Shut up, Mr. Weasley!" Snape seemed annoyed by their explanations. He glared at them and said in a deep voice, "I should have Professor McGonagall turn you into pocket watches."

"That way you can not only come to school on time, but also shut your mouths."

"!"

Just listening to Snape's words, Royla felt a surge of pity for the two unfortunate students... If they had been caught by Dumbledore, things might have been better, but this was Professor Snape...

I will pray for you through Merlin!

Watching the three disappear down the corridor, Loila let out a soft sigh of relief.

She didn't want to talk to Professor Snape, much less run into him... Even if she needed help in the process of making potions, Royla didn't want it to be now.

She needs a few days to prepare mentally, maybe a month?

Thinking this, Loila waved her wand to break the spell, then strode towards her office.

As she sat down in the office chair, that long-lost sense of relaxation slowly washed over her.

"Gurgle?"

Seeing Loila return, Sia jumped up and stood in front of her.

"Ah... Sia." Loila wanted to hug her owl and marvel at how she was still alive... but honestly, when she saw it turn 180 degrees to look at her, she didn't really want to anymore.

And I don't even know if I'll be alive tomorrow.

It's all Dumbledore's fault... His inexplicable trust made those students have high expectations.

I'm sure I'll disappoint them...

and many more!

Loila suddenly realized something and slapped her face.

How could I be so stupid!

This job wasn't my purpose in coming to Hogwarts! I came to defeat Dumbledore! To help Lord Grindelwald achieve a greater good!

What do you mean by teaching a class? What do you mean by students being disappointed? I am a ruthless member of the UMNO party, how could I be afraid of students being disappointed?

I should say I should disappoint them, prevent them from learning anything useful! That way, I can weaken Dumbledore's power and contribute to Lord Grindelwald's cause... right?

Loila felt that while this argument could convince her... it didn't make her feel at ease.

She was still very nervous...

After all, seeing that look of disappointment on someone's face is really a bit scary...

Let's find a way to defeat Dumbledore as soon as possible.

Royla felt that tonight might be a good night?

I could sneak into Dumbledore's office and then defeat him with a quick and ruthless spell.

By then, he won't even know who attacked him...

"Miss Hamilton?"

"what!"

"Ding ding ding ding Broodo!"

Hearing the sound at the door, Loila quickly got out of bed.

Dumbledore, do you have telepathy? Why do you appear whenever I think of your name? You didn't appear the previous times!

And isn't it a bit impolite for an elderly man to come to a young lady's room late at night?

"May I come inside?"

Of course not!

Loira wanted to shake her head and refuse, but in order not to arouse Dumbledore's suspicion, she could only purse her lips and say, "Of...of course."

"Clatter".

Dumbledore pushed open the door and came in. In those few minutes, the headmaster of Hogwarts had actually changed his clothes. He was wearing a purple robe embroidered with flying bees.

"Did I disturb your rest?" Dumbledore asked slowly, looking at the slightly messy bed.

"No...nothing." Loila flicked her wand to smooth out the wrinkles, then asked softly, "Is...is there something you need...?"

"Ah...it's about tomorrow's Defense Against the Dark Arts class." Dumbledore nodded and said, "Minerva was supposed to tell you that."

"However, she seems to be busy with something right now..."

What happened? Loila instinctively felt it was related to the two late-arriving students.

"Of course, none of that matters," Dumbledore continued. "Miss Hamilton, are you ready for tomorrow's lesson?"

You're asking me now if I'm ready? Weren't you just bragging to the students about me... saying I was some kind of... outstanding wizard...?

"Haha, I seem to have asked a rather uninteresting question," Dumbledore said, slowly sitting down. "I've heard about your research."

"Those completed magic circle props will definitely be an eye-opener for the students," Dumbledore smiled slightly and lowered his voice. "The inspiration came from the Pensieve, didn't it?"

"Hmm...hmm!" Loila nodded hastily, actually thanks in part to Mr. Riddle's help.

"I see..." Dumbledore remained silent for a few seconds, seemingly lost in thought, as he watched Loyla nod.

Then, he slowly got up and left.

What is he here for... just to chat with me?

Loila watched his departing figure with a puzzled look, wondering what he was thinking...

Wait, now's the time to make a move... Just as Royla was about to pull out her wand, she saw Dumbledore disappear around the corner.

I'm such a useless person... I couldn't even seize such a good opportunity.

Loila lay back down on the bed in frustration, and couldn't help but miss her days in Nurmengard.

Lord Grindelwald...where are you?
