Chapter 113 Why is the yard so quiet?
Arriving at Jie Di's door, He Yuliang knocked gently. After a while, the door slowly opened, and it was Jie Di's mother, Aunt Zhang. Her eyes looked a little tired, and when she saw He Yuliang, she smiled slightly: "Yuliang, you are here."
He Yuliang saw Aunt Zhang's expression and became even more worried. He asked hurriedly, "Aunt, what happened? Why is the yard so quiet?"
Aunt Zhang sighed, raised her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead, and said, "Hey, Yuliang, my family has been in trouble recently. I have to go out and find some work. There is no one to serve you."
Hearing this, He Yuliang's heart sank. He didn't expect that the Liu family would encounter such difficulties. He thought silently, and suddenly remembered something, and said, "Auntie, if possible, I can help you a little."
Aunt Zhang was stunned for a moment, then shook her head and smiled: "Yuliang, you are a good person, but what can you do alone? You'd better not make trouble."
He Yuliang shook his head firmly and said, "Auntie, don't worry, I will try my best to help you."
Aunt Zhang was touched by He Yuliang's resolute attitude. She nodded and said, "Okay, then you stay here and help me look after the house. I'll go out and find some work."
He Yuliang took over Aunt Zhang's words and smiled comfortingly: "Don't worry, Auntie, I will take good care of it."
He Yuliang stayed at Jie Di's house and began his temporary care work. He looked around the empty yard, silently thinking about what to do next. Suddenly, a shout broke the silence.
"Whose child is so careless!"
He Yuliang raised his head and looked in the direction where the voice came from, only to see a tall middle-aged man arguing with the grocery store owner.
The middle-aged man was wearing an old sweatshirt, with an unhappy expression on his face and a bag of broken snacks in his hand. The owner of the grocery store was a smiling middle-aged man who looked a little experienced and negotiated with the customer helplessly.
"Brother, don't be angry. This is just a bag of snacks. I'll give it to you for free, okay?" the boss explained patiently.
However, the middle-aged man refused to give in and waved the snacks in his hand, "How do you manage this grocery store? The snacks are all mushy. Whose child is so rude?"
He Yuliang looked at this scene and felt a little bit reluctant. He walked over and tried to resolve the dispute: "Brother, what happened? Can you tell me? Maybe I can help."
The middle-aged man glanced at He Yuliang and calmed down a little. He complained, "Boy, didn't you see? This is the snack I just bought, but it was bumped by someone's kid and it broke into pieces! Now the owner is telling me it's my fault."
He Yuliang listened to his complaints and understood. He looked at his boss, trying to find out more.
The boss shook his head and sighed, "Big Brother, you know that business in a small shop like ours is not easy to do. This kid's parents never discipline him, and he runs around the store all day long. This time he bumped into your things again."
He Yuliang frowned. He didn't want to get involved in a dispute with a stranger, but seeing the aggrieved look on the middle-aged man's face, he still felt a little reluctant. He thought about it and decided to try to mediate. "Brother, don't be angry. Children are children after all. Sometimes they will inevitably have small conflicts. Just let them go in this matter. I believe that similar things will not happen again in the future."
After hearing what He Yuliang said, the middle-aged man hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded: "Well, well, forget it. These kids don't have much brains."
Seeing that things had calmed down, He Yuliang smiled slightly, said goodbye to the middle-aged man and the boss, and then continued to return to Jie Di's house.
Back in the yard, He Yuliang continued to sit on the bench in the yard, thinking about the next plan. He knew that his responsibility was not only to take care of Jie Di's family's life, but also to help solve the problems in the yard.
Just as he was deep in thought, suddenly, a sharp scream interrupted his thoughts.
"Ow! That hurts!"
He Yuliang walked quickly towards the injured girl. He saw that she was pale and had beads of sweat on her forehead. The girl's knee was red and swollen, and it was obvious that she had suffered a serious injury.
"Are you okay?" He Yuliang squatted down and asked with concern.
The girl nodded with a choked voice, but tears welled up in her eyes: "I... I don't know what happened, I suddenly fell down."
He Yuliang's heart tightened. He gently lifted the girl up and carefully observed her injuries. He found that the girl's knee was swollen from the fall, and it might be a ligament injury. He decided to take her to Jie Di's home and give her a simple bandage.
"Don't worry, let's go to Jie Di's house first and treat your wounds." He Yuliang comforted the girl gently and supported her as she walked towards Jie Di's house step by step.
The girl nodded, raised her head, and tried to hold back the tears in her eyes. She looked at He Yuliang gratefully and followed him silently.
Arriving at Jie Di's house, He Yuliang carefully helped the girl to the bench in the yard, then took out the first aid kit. He gently wiped the girl's wound with a sterilized cotton ball, and then carefully bandaged it with gauze.
The girl turned pale with pain, but she didn't make any complaints, just silently endured the pain. He Yuliang saw this and couldn't help but feel a little admiration in his heart.
After bandaging the wound, He Yuliang handed the girl a cup of warm water and said, "Drink slowly."
The girl took the cup and drank a few sips of water, feeling a little better. She looked up at He Yuliang, her eyes full of gratitude: "Thank you, thank you so much."
He Yuliang shook his head and said with a smile: "You're welcome, this is what I should do."
At this moment, Jie Di's mother, Aunt Zhang, came back from outside. Seeing an injured girl in the yard, she hurried over and asked, "What happened?"
He Yuliang stood up, explained to Aunt Zhang, and then said: "Aunt Zhang, we should send this girl to the hospital for a check-up."
Aunt Zhang nodded and motioned for the girl to follow her to the hospital. The girl stood up, looked at He Yuliang gratefully, and then followed Aunt Zhang out of Li Di's house.
He Yuliang stood in the yard, watching the girl leave, and felt an inexplicable emotion in his heart. He realized that even if he was just an ordinary person, as long as he was willing to lend a helping hand, he could change the fate of others.
He took a deep breath and decided to stay at Jie Di's house and wait for Aunt Zhang to come back. He knew that although he could not solve all the problems, as long as he was willing to try hard, he could bring hope and warmth to the people around him.
